Gender Studies - February 2007

Whenever I have an argument with someone, anyone, I always feel like I have to be the understanding one and nobody every bothers to understand how I feel about the situation. How do I change that? How do I get people to acknowledge my feelings about something?

Yes I am generalizing because this is in GENERAL! MEANING MOST OF THE TIME and not all the time!!!

Do you have any credible proof of what you are saying? I'm pretty sure if I had a vagina I could give birth and take it. Plus I got another one for you. If you were too punch a guy and a woman in the stomach, I'm pretty sure the woman would be on the ground crying, whereas the guy would just take it.So much for being ''wussies''. I think this could also be applied to childbirth.

As for raising kids, my dad did a much better job at it than my mom who hit bad me a few times and insulted me.

What are your opinions?

Women are now self sufficent and they have laws and the whole society supports them so why?

Financial independence is your greatest acheivement so why do you need a man?

You can have sex with any guy because they are so goddamned weak for you , why go to all this trouble?

So why put this farce of realtions with them?


They dont need a man to father children now ,scientific research designed to eliminate the value of male in human conpetion has come with things like tissue culture so why?

You are better beings,peace loving,emotional,sensitive,loving,great friends with each other so why?

You are prone to abuse in realtionships with males so why do you still carry on?

A global legislation slated to be passed recognizes every male-female relationship as abusive on females, so why?

There is global research on breast cancer ,nobody even cares about prostrate cancer,so why?

Are they any better?

Recent photos of a US female army soldier torturing prisoners...something out of a fetish site.Her faimly was totally flabbergasted on her actions.She will prorbably walk away free and they will say she was coereced into it ,what hypocritical crap?

Are they any better ? or worse?, given the same circumstances?

shockingly a true fact is they have different standards of training much lowered so that they can qualify???

Ina real war will that help ?except providing entertainment to enemy soldiers when they are captured???

Why dont these independant females take up coal mining ,bridge laying all those jobs that we guys do and we take up nice cushy office jobs????

Anz asked a question why should women deserve equal rights?
Almost all women beleive they are superior to men.

where does my girlfreid go on the nights of a full moon? she always comes back kind of dirty, and she smells funny, kind of "Wild", and she's always wearing different clothes than she left in.She is dirty, but her clothes are clean. It's really perplexing!

The article was many years ago. perhaps 20 years and encouraged women to take on responsibility as the flip side to asking for equality in relationships.
It was in a popular magazine. It could have been Parade magazine. I have not been able to find a good way to search for
a magazine article by author.

i am trying my best to see men and women as both human beings, but i grew up in a home were men were not to cry and women didnt have to go to school if they wanted to stay home and clean, i grew up in a family were men treated women like sh*t, and then i am starting to see a lot of sexism out there in the world and just so much harm done to women and the constant struggle just to be treatedd fairly, PLease tell me if the majority of men are so bad........, i see few individuals guys that are actually nice and a few that fake it, and then a lot that are just heartless. i dont want to think that all men are evil and i cant trust them, that thinking just isnt right, but damn it is just so hard to see....... i feel like a victim to these sexist people,what to do????? i fear all men secreatly are sexist, subconciosly or whatever, they just are, i dont want to have my son and think he is going to be a monster when he grows up because he will be a "man", HELP!!

If there are no emotional or physical injuries at all, just a brief, spontaneous act in the heat of the moment, is it still considered abuse?

Should it be forgiven since no injury (at all) occurred and it was a one time incident?

This is referring to a single physical strike that did not result in any injury.

Long story short. I am a nice, decent semi-attractive girl. I respect everyone and do my best. However, I don't date at all or really talk to guys. People have called me a lesbian and I hardly know them.
This really hurts, and this was at church when they said this. I do forgive them.

My reason is my dad was very abusive verbally, mentally, and emotionally, and if he communicated it was always negative, and mean. As a result I don't date as I fear men will hurt me, or worse.

So, why do people say mean things?
