(1) Age when you are capible of reproducing -- tht is the age you become an adult since you can now make a decision that can lead to bring a life into the world.

(2) Being prepared to be a parent. If your not prepared to be a parent you are still an iimmature adult or an aspiring women

(3) Being prepared to be a spouse (nobody likes the word wife anymore). We bond as couples for the pupose of having sex WITH the consequnces of children.

It is un-womenly to make a child or take a chance on making one if that child would potentiallly have one or two immature irrresponsible kids for parents. We use to have a name for that type of girl to help shun them from such actions but today we role model them as our daughter heros and buy their records.

The exact same rules apply to males. Overgrown Boys should never get sex (identified by beer drinking and smashing can on head). And a MAN is somone prepared to be a husband and a father.

Well when a girl starts her period she is usually said to be a "woman" and I think thats a good way to look at it, my mom said it to be when I first got mine but Im 20 years old and I wouldn't even consider myself a woman because in my opinion becoming a woman means when a female has the maturity and knowledge of what it really means to be a woman. There is no set age but I usually think of a woman as like a mature 25 year old or even a mother.

Some women/ girls never fulfill the requirements and are still considered women.
I guess the same rule that would apply for a boy turning into a man whatever that is.
If you were native there are many customs that have to be done before being named man or woman.
Todays society its really hard to tell.
Acting and being older and responsible is a time when one changes from being a youth to an adult.
So hard as it is an individual change that happens and slowly

Just the physical things to be a woman, not a girl - growing breasts (however large or small,) pubic hair, starting periods.

To be an adult - grow up emotionally and rationally, but this is not woman-specific. I think that society should not place any 'goodness' on gender defined personality e.g. maternal, submissive woman is best, because many women do not subscribe to the stereotype. So growing up should be very much a personal thing.

Ok some say menstruation is the necessary step, but it's not... becoming a woman is that point where you stand with your head up, when you realize this world could be yours if you want to, when you are strong enough to face the world and fight for your rights, and... when you after all, are ready to be a mother.

I like this answer the BEST! I find none better. Well, I wish I found a woman like this, don't you????

Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.

She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.

She seeks wool and flax,
And willingly works with her hands.

She is like the merchant ships,
She brings her food from afar.

She also rises while it is yet night,
And provides food for her household,
And a portion for her maidservants.

She considers a field and buys it;
From her profits she plants a vineyard.

She girds herself with strength,
And strengthens her arms.

She perceives that her merchandise is good,
And her lamp does not go out by night.

She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
And her hand holds the spindle.

She extends her hand to the poor,
Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of snow for her household,
For all her household is clothed with scarlet.

She makes tapestry for herself;
Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates,
When he sits among the elders of the land.

She makes linen garments and sells them,
And supplies sashes for the merchants.

Strength and honor are her clothing;
She shall rejoice in time to come.

She opens her mouth with wisdom,
And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

She watches over the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:

“Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all.”

Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

Give her of the fruit of her hands,
And let her own works praise her in the gates.

From the Bible!

The essence of being a women when one will be wife and a mother. As they say you can't serve two masters at the same time, but a real woman can pull it through.

In the old days it was when a girl got her period. They would say "she was now a woman". Now I believe it is all based on maturity. Some girls mature sooner than others & will start taking responsibility for themselves earlier than others. I think it's different for everyone.
