When the Fed cuts its rate, people say it is printing money. I realize printing money is a metaphor for increasing the money supply, but why does cutting the interest rate increase the money supply? And how do they figure out exactly how much? Like, they'll say, the fed injected 41 billion dollars (whatever) into the money supply, something like that, but they'll relate that to the interest rate cut.

This may sound strange, but here goes. Ever since the beginning of summer, everyday my mom watches that show all my children. She wakes up and goes online on an all my children message board. Most of the day she is on there up until right before bed. I don't mind her having a hobby, but I'm having a hard time handling her being on there all the time. My sister is also into the show. They're into it and it makes me feel left out because it consumes alot of their time. I watch the show just to be a part of it, but I'm not really into it. I talked to my mom about this. I told her I feel like she's different because her personality has changed. She's more of a mute now & is involved online. She said she's still the same and doesn't believe she's changed. We don't have alot of money, so she's always been more of a homebody, but we used to talk and go out more often. I guess I feel a bit neglected and left out. I don't want to take away her enjoyment, but how do I deal with it

I had a dream the other night that I was really thirsty and I went to a deli and couldn't find any water. They had everything possible to drink, eat, etc except for water bottles. The only water they had was growing plants(?) in it and there were snakes and insects all over the place. What could this mean?

...okay, in my dream i was a man(i'm a girl!), i was in some kind of room and then this grotesque creature came out of the darkness and twisted a knife through my head. Then it said a poem of some sort, but i can't remember what it said. i didn't die;i just stared at the thing and it attacked me again(only i can't remember what it did),still i didn't die when i was supposed to.Then i woke up (still in the dream), back to my regular body, and told people about the dream and they said it was a cursed dream..
...why do you think i dreamed this!!!!!!?

Most people are 'good' because they dont want to go to jail, or because of their religion, they think being good will get them to heaven! Most people in power can be very evil, because they could get away with it, and most of the business world is people ripping people off. If people could get away with it, I'm sure you can get their real character(like when they do bad deeds on alcohol or drugs, because they are uninhibited. I know there are good people, but does that mean the more good they are, the more evil they are because of the yin/yang balance? I know a lot of good people have very evil fantasies but supress them. A lot of people are on 'medication' to balance them out. What is your opinion?

Since a large part of what's harming our planet is due to consumption, will that begin to change in the future? Hypothetically, if consumption of non-renewable resources is sharply limited, could this change how many "products" women are expected to use?

For example - many people (particularly hygeine-obsessed Americans) shower and wash thier hair every day. Well, that shampoo has to be driven by trucks across the country, and the plastic bottle is made with other oils and chemicals, usually to be thrown out after just a month or so. How would our beauty standards change if we were "allowed" just two bottles of shampoo a year? Or would we (hopefully!) invent better methods of washing hair, like using a bar soap which is less heavy than a mostly-water bottle of shampoo? Would the "natural look" become a symbol of eco-friendly pride?

Ok I know the difference between them, the major one being that a psychiatrist issues medicine and drugs to patients and a psychologist ismore clinical and does not issue such things. but I was wondering, whic should I be? Should I be one at all? At first I wanted to be a respiratory therapist to help people with asthma, but now it dawned on me that the issue of Psychology may be a better field to pursue.

1. Tell me waht you know about each field? The differences? The similarities?

2. How much do they get paid, salary wise, hourly wise?

3. Which is the better one?

4.How long I'd have to go to school for either one?

5. A school that offers a good program of it (I live in Illinois, Im thinking Loyola or Northwestern)

6.Any other additional information.

Thanks I would appreciate this alot, this is like a career descision, Im lost and I need help, I have a good GPA and am on honor roll and stuff so maybe this is a good idea. 10 points for best answer! Thanks!

You should say:

(Or: who was with you) *

what happened

and explain how/why this event led to an improvement in your life.
