I don't know whether this is called phobia or there is another term for it , whenever i was in high places , i feel dizzy when looking ( i know this is quite common ) but the problem is i always had the urge to jump down ( though never did before ), how to overcome this problem ? I had this when i was in more than 2 stories high.

don't worry, you're normal. its called "vertigo" and almost everyone gets it. some people never get over it but if you're like me, i only developed it as i got older. as for getting over it, stay calm and breath normally and don't look down if you can.

I think it's called Vertigo. You get dizzy and have to step back away from the edge of a high place. I'm not sure if it is the fear of falling or the fear of a heights, but most people have some form of this, when they get really close to a very high unprotected ledge. I think of it as just a natural defense mechanism that is telling you to back up for your own safety.

well first get rid of that urge to jump.Continue to go to high places and always have someone with you.Do this until you are no longer afraid and have NO urge to jump down.You can overcome this I know you can

try jumping out of a perfectly good airplane with a parachute attached to your body...i did and it was a great ride down, don't like that idea, then i'd say you have vertigo...but either way you go....this is not expert advice and i suggest you seek a professionals advice

Agorophobia: fear of large open spaces.
Acrophobia: fear of heights.
Awesophobia: fear of not jumping off of a two story building and being totally boss-awesome in front of friends and family.
