This summer I was on a trip in mississippi helping rebuild some homes. I met a lady 80 years old who swam one half mile with a small dog to safety to escape Katrina. When the water rose she said it slowly pushed her out the upstairs window. She made it that far and is alive today. The church that she attends built her a house. She was an inspiration to me and to everyone who heard her story, She gave me renewed Joy for life, I found out I worry to much, even though I am disabled I am doing more now because of what she done. She is an extradordinary woman. She gives me courage to go ahead and do things I normally wouldn't do.

I come from a family that tends to have problems with compulsive behaviors, drinking, spending, etc. Anyways, I have concluded that I definitely do the compulsive spending. What I have started doing is writing on my calendar, for every day, any amounts that I spent that day, that were not for necessities, such as gas, or food, etc. At the end of the week total it up to get an idea of what I spend, per month, on non-necessary items. It tends to average about $100 a week, which is at least $400 a month. So, now that I am keeping track of how much I compulsively spend, I figure that will help me to see what a big difference it would make in a good way, if I can cut way back on that amount per week. So, I think that writing it down, the amounts and what it was for, will help me to do better than I was doing, when I could be in denial about how much was being spent.
