it's the geek section...they are smart as hell but they don't know how to set up an avatar....

Because they are like fire-and-forget. They ask only when they need answers. They usually come on Answers less frequently and if they do they care only about getting answers. Those sections are less popular too. I asked three questions two days back, but I received only one answer each for two of them. The third question is still open wiht 0 answers. What the dog says is incorrect I am smart and I know to set up an avatar.

I expect that many posters in math and science are there mostly for the fun of challenging themselves with interesting questions. In other categories, participants are also motivated by a desire to meet people and exchange pleasantries.

Scientists are not supposed to care about looks and such...it's bad for their credibility if they do.
