The Millenium Development Goals seek to halve the worlds worst poverty related problems by 2015. Most of the industrial world has signed on to help. This is by far the best example of the world trying to work together to solve hard problems.
See sources for an excellent presentation on how we've been doing so far.

No. The bible does say that poverty will always be with us, the reason is apparent. Poverty is borne of a lack of productivity. There will always be a group of people who will not be productive and therefore will live in poverty. No amount of cash will change that. If you gave every person, who lives in poverty, 1 million dollars, the vast majority would spend every dime in a terribly wasteful fashion and end up in worse shape than before. According to Stephen Goldbart (co-director of the Money,Meaning, Choices Institute who advises people who come into lottery winnings) the majority of lottery winners continue to do what they did before they won. If they had money problems, they continued to spend wastefully. Fully one/third of all winners file bankruptcy within the first five years. Imagine what those numbers would be if every recipient of our theoretical 1 million dollar government check were unproductive poverty stricken individuals. The numbers would probably be 99%. The other problem is that the people who lose the winnings typically lose their marriage, home and family in the process.

No the concept of money creates poverty, as it is a lack of money. Bet a lack can only be compared to more to be seen as having less. So, if all the money in the world was given out, we'd all have nothing.

Yes, 0 money, why don't people just give each other something rather then demand paper for it, sure, paper can buy food, and other things, but if theres a famine then all that money is no good, if ye can't feed yerself how long will you enjoy that new tv? or car or whatever.
On tha otherhand if food was the barter system, if you didn't spend it on anything hey you have you dinner.

Well, if every person in the world gives1$ to the poor, and lets say that the whole world reaches almost billions of people then we will collect billions of dollars to the poor and everyone will be happy even the people who were suffering.
And I hope someday everyone will be satisfied with the things they have... And i hope that there will be no more poverty...
Thank you

There will never be enough money to eliminate all poverty. There is only enough money that should it all be used to eliminate poverty, everyone would be poverty stricken and suffering.

Only if it is used towards eliminating poverty and suffering, not when it just lines the pockets of few.

Not if it is merely aid. The people of the world must be educated and taught to think for themselves. Their governments must be made to serve the people and build infra-structure that can lead to a sustainable economy, and to a sustainable food source. Until, the people and the governments of poor countries are educated to do the right things needed to cloth, feed, heal, and educate themselves - then no amount of money given to them will help "solve" their problems.
