I ask this here because I think that female "characters" (quirky people with a mix of strengths and weaknesses) are less common on (American) TV.

For example, the characters I think I am most like are Det. Gorin on Law and Order: CI, Adrian Monk on Monk, and Grissom on CSI. (I'd mention a dearth of black "characters" too.) But I don't see many female characters like that.

I have been very careful with my weight. I was obese before and then managed to lose the weight. I used to weight 85kgs and then eventually gotten to 58kgs. Then last year, I was into the gym and all and managed to hit 55kgs, at that time was also dating a health freak who practically didnt allow me to eat anything when we are going out, but after 9 months got tired of the routine, the pressure and eating restriction and had abandon the plan. Started gaining weight... and not feeling good about myself now. I found myself turning to food whenever i am depress and I also started binge eating. Eating when no one is around, avoiding social functions and having very low self esteem. I want to join a support group or talk to someone that can understand my situation...... My will power is not as strong as before, I need some support to help me loose the weight and gain back my confident and my life....please help

i have this dorm roommate which i can't stand. she's from a romanian orphanage, which is why she has all the issues she has. lately i have been getting fed up with everything that she's been doing; she's delusional, and i'm wondering if anything i tell her even sinks in to her....i've been pretty passive aggressive with her as well. in my background i've experienced much mistreatment and hurt from other a good majority of my life, and to this day i have strong feelings of letting people get over on me. so when my rm pisses me off, which has been excessive lately, it just really gets to me. is this normal? trying to explain how she is could take pages....she's got a hearing problem so she talks VERY loud, she's nagging, nosy, delusional, messy, whiny, hard-headed and so much more. is it normal for me to just want to do everything to retaliate against her? because talking to her does not seem to work.

First off I do happen to like kids (in moderation) :P

Basically I think that there should be a limit on how many kids you can have and wanted to see what you people thought!

2 kids I think is enough for those [legacy gene pool obsessed] people and after that one should adopt! Can people not see that by spitting out kids left and right is over crowding our country, and pretty much in some cases non intentionally placing these kids in situations of picking on because their parent(s) had them when they can't even afford to take care of them self?

Seriously take a second and think about that last part. I'm not trying to be negative...but I am a realist! Makes me a tad angry that people can easily pop a kid out yet not think of the reality behind if they can provide for a child or not. A classic truth be told of how selfish a lot of humans really are....

I haven't been involved for some time, as some of you know, but discussions here about things like "equality in the bed room" have made me think about past relationships?

Is it unusual for a woman to think that a particular act (f*******) is "demeaning" and "degrading" and "uncomfortable" and something "guys only want because it's a way to dominate", while thinking the closest equivalent act on a woman (c**********) is something "any guy who is sensitive to his partner's needs" would do and should be expected to do?

Are the two acts that different?
Is this mix of attitudes in the same woman common?

I always just respected my partners' feelings and didn't try to argue or pressure (what would be the point if she's so opposed?) but it always made me wonder.

Is this common? And can any women who hold these views explain the difference?

Heres my view: Grandest years? and what exactly is grand about it? I'm a junior in highschool and I still have yet to call this the grandest times of my life I think it should be "The most stressful years of my life" At least when your out of highschool you choose your own path, with HS your stuck doing the requirement classes (Math ugh) Not to mention the boredom, the entire day is either boredom/classwork or test.

The day doesn't end once the bell rings either, Oh homework did I foget to mention that?

So I'm having tons of useless information drummed into my head, homework that is more a chore then a learning experience and the day itself boredom beyond belief.... Despite all of this I am doing quite good in school despite what I have said about it here, I beg to differ the grandest years of my life will be after highschool where I'll get to explore my career and for the 1st time actually live life on my own...

I had this really weird dream that I was on some kind of religious quest through this cave. I was armed with a spear and that was all. At the bottom of this cave was shallow water and a steep and very thin incline was what I had to walk on to the very top. While trying to get to the top their were these people trying to stop me. Instead of stabbing them with the spear I would just hold the very bottom of it and top of it and push them off the sides having them fall to their death. Once I made it to the top I bang this gong and went to this fountain and prayed. Around this fountain was geisha's and they wear all sitting- some looking at me other's praying. Anyone wanna try to decipher?

Why do so many men (including a lot of the game producers) seem to think women don't like video games?
I've played video games since I was 4 years old and still enjoy them, I have an Xbox and I enjoy it as much as my brother does---so how did this stereo type happen?

This weekend I went to Salem MA to check out the Halloween sights. As we walked through the many vendors selling yummy kettle-corn and watching crazy costumes there was a sign for FREE DREAM INTERPERTATION. I always joked about this one dream I had and never could understand what it meant. So I said to my lovely wife what the hell! See this link to read the rest and report you interpertation here!

If you state in "educated" circles that you do not believe one bit in feminism, some people will find it appropriate to question your education level, and make jokes about it. It is especially sad when men say that at dinners to please their wives so they can hopefully get laid that night... Is it a given that if you graduated with a bachelors and then masters degree from a western university you must have been indoctrinated with feminist ideology? Isn't it the other way around? Doesn't it take a highly educated person to see how void feminism really is?

Ok, well, when I was a kid, like, under 10, I used to draw a lot, like most kids do. I used to draw aliens, and my imagination was so active that I would plan out a movie involving the aliens and monsters in my head, if I was bored or something. Nothing like imaginary friends though. Anyway, I was around 7 when I can first remember coming up with this "Planet Neso", and other planets whose names sounded like that. I guess it’s only natural that I would come up with planets while coming up with aliens. The name Neso always sounded weird to me, and I was recently thinking, maybe I could make a Halo-ish videogame, and I thought that Neso was too weird a name for a planet. Now, for some reason, less than 2 minutes ago I Google searched "Neso" and came up with articles about Neptune’s moon, Neso. I can assure you that i have NEVER heard of this moon before, and the Wikipedia page is so small, I’m sure nobody in my neighborhood had either. I’m seriously freaked out.

There is a bad habit, I have that I need to stop. Although I've had this bad habit for years, I can't seem to be able to break this bad habit. I need advice on how to stop this bad habit.

No matter where I am, if someone falls or trips I see it happen them start laughing. Whenever I see a person fall I don't laugh at loud, but I get the feeling that I want to laugh. I then start laughing quietly in my head, after the person falls. Everytime this happens, I feel that theres nothing that can't make me stop laughing.

I don't mean to laugh at the person who fell, but I do it anyway. If the person starts makes drama, then I feel like I want to laugh harder. How can I stop this?
