Heres my view: Grandest years? and what exactly is grand about it? I'm a junior in highschool and I still have yet to call this the grandest times of my life I think it should be "The most stressful years of my life" At least when your out of highschool you choose your own path, with HS your stuck doing the requirement classes (Math ugh) Not to mention the boredom, the entire day is either boredom/classwork or test.

The day doesn't end once the bell rings either, Oh homework did I foget to mention that?

So I'm having tons of useless information drummed into my head, homework that is more a chore then a learning experience and the day itself boredom beyond belief.... Despite all of this I am doing quite good in school despite what I have said about it here, I beg to differ the grandest years of my life will be after highschool where I'll get to explore my career and for the 1st time actually live life on my own...

I graduated from high school over 30 years ago and don't consider my high school years to be the best time of my life. If anything, I couldn't wait to graduate and have never looked back since. Maybe some people thought those years were the best in their lives and want to try to re-live those years by attending high school class reunions but I never have.

Yes, I agree with you. After highschool will be the grandest years of your life IF... you work now. Highschool kids have so much talent but I'm afraid it doesn't usually get developed. PLEASE don't worry about what the other kids will think. Find out what you like... art, music, design, math, english...? Pour yourself into that. The other subject will be used along with that talent. In any job after highschool there are things you don't like to do. Working on those subjects you think are a waste are preparing you to be a hard working adult and will make you successful in the things you like to do. Peer pressure is a waste of the talent you have in you right now.

I would not go back to high school for all the chocolate in the world. So yeah, I agree--I had some good times, but those were by far NOT the best years of my life. In fact, I'm 35 and some of the best years of my life have been just in the last few years.

I've often wondered the same thing...It is extremely stressful and probably the worst of my life so far, im a highschool junior who works part time after school and mantains a decent gpa. My day often starts at about 8 in the morning and ends at about midnight...it is depressing often, i look forward to better times after highschool.

Some people refer to them as their grandest years.

I hated high school - there was nothing "GRAND" about it!!!
I wasn't in "THE" Click, I wasn't in the Want-A-Bee Click.
I am not alone feeling this!

I have been back for one reunion - not planning to go to another one very soon, if ever!!!

ive actually always heard that the college years are the best years of your life and i feel exactly how you do about high school as well as college...the thing is, there will always be something to complain about and something to be happy about...unfortunately you dont realize the happy things usually until the time is over...life is not going to get any easier
