Are sitcoms simply mindless entertainment? Do they explore scenarios similar to what their audiences' would experience? Do any make social or political comments? Do they have any messages? Or are they a simple form of entertainment to distract us from our lives?

my friends dad took me to a strip club for the first time. He spent fat money on me. He paid $340 on me for vip lapdances. 20 for two songs. Thats alot of lapdances. Thats a lot of beautiful women. I felt really good and was lost in ecstasy for hours. I have this feeling Ill have to fight this from becoming an obsession. On the other side, do some women have this "strip club" problem? What do you women think?

Gas prices continue to rise all the while the oil companies are recording record profits. You think if they were making so much money that the prices would drop not continue to rise.

Let's say a person whom you know is being terribly mean to you illogically and irrationally eventhough you've not bothered him/her at all in anyway & you've minding only your own business so far but somehow they still always try to cut in to your lane just to put you down (& I don't know why, probably jealousy)- then how do you deal with this situation?

- Do you just ignore that person? or
- Do you confront them? or
- Do you simply shut them off your life?

What's the best way to deal with this situation? Please share your opinion. I just want to know what majority of the people say?

I've never had a boyfriend. The closest thing that came to it was this boy liked me and vice versa. It ended up with he got bored with me and left, before anything really started.

I'm really anti-social and I barely talk to anyone. I don't know what to do to change myself, I have to FORCE myself to hang around people. But what kind of life is that, to have to constantly force yourself to associate with people. I'm 17, never had a boyfriend, and at this rate I never will. How can I change myself to be a happy social person?

Ive been having this dream on and off for a few months now and i was wondering if anyone could help me figure it out. It starts off with this intense feeling of fear, but i cant figure out what is causing it, and then out of no where a jet blake, rattle snake with peircing, golden eyes pops up. He is in striking postion and he is just staring at something, but i cant see it. i can see him front a frontal view, but i know that he is not looking at me, it seems as though he is trying to protect me from something. and then all of a sudden ill wake up in a cold sweat. and scared.

I believe it was in Chicago during the 80s but I could be wrong. Aparently, the "no-corner" shaped rooms made the tenants have psychological problems that even led them to suicide and mental disorders. The building was destroyed.

My future husband and I are from MI who's economy sucks terribly. So we are trying to find a list of the states with the best economies. Does anyone know of a website that will give me a list of the best and the worst out of the 50 states.

We were thinking some place close to MI, but not here. So if we can stay more in the midwest that would be great.

I am just struggling to find some kind of certified list.

I am a good person, a good daughter and a good sister...my family is the greatest family in the world. I feel loved and taken cared of, but inside I'm screaming for someone to help me and console me. I stutter and this has made life for me really difficult. So difficult that when I was in my teens I actually thought of suicide. My years in middle school and high school were the worst years of my life. I'm 21 now but I still feel the same way I felt back then. I can't seem to let go of the past and stop feeling sorry for myself. I always ask GOD why he made me this way. Why did I have to stutter...I mean, if I didn't I would be so much happier. My life would be so different in all aspects: sociallly, emotionally, etc. My life sucks!!! For people it is easy to just say get over it or go to theraphy....but how do I get rid of all the sadness inside me. How do I get rid of all the frustration, hopelessness and anger. I went to speech theraphy once and it didn't make things better.

I certainly think in terms of looks, whites are gorgeous? (only side note) Main point is that history texts are culturally biased. Really because there aren't enough impact of asian or african-american harvard sociologists or historians to make this impact of shifting to a broader-based assessment of contributions. I am asian and I orient myself with caucasian standards because that is the world we live in, here in the united states. I definitely know asians and african americans (and hispanics, etc) are making quite an impact, but it is in the most recent times that the impact has been great. How to make sense of human achievements in terms of race? (If you've got racist or insensitive comments, hold your thoughts) If you have any thoughtful comments, please educate me. I am asian and I am quite aware of asian contributions in especially science and mathematics. But beyond the stereotype, there are influences in the arts, even theatre, definitely movies (asian directors).

I suppose this is a question of philosophics and morality. What I'm getting at, is that people seem to think it's cruel to say things that might offend someone, because "Aww, you hurt their feelings!"

But isn't it immoral as a society, to ignore the issues at hand, due to being afraid of hurting someone's feelings?

Then again, the flip side becomes, "Who's to say what's the greater good? When does the feelings of the individual(s) become outweighed by the feelings of society as a collective?"

What do you think?

Do they complain less?
Do women in general get sex far more easier?
Or are Women naturally less sexual than men are...?

i am a college student and my first year i was extremely painfully shy and lonely. i think because i was so alone i grew resentful and uninterested in what the other students were doing. those were the things where i felt i didn't belong so i had no interest in parties and football games

then over time i grew out of my shyness more and more.
i started going to football games, and frat parties and out to bars. my favorite was going out to this one open-bar with my friends.
however over time, this bar and other places i used to go to a lot are becoming more popular among the ppl at my school. i have started to lose interest in going there and in fact when i hear someone saying they aregoing to go there, i get annoyed. if i went there right now it'd be packed with ppl from my school, rather than a variety of clientele.
there are also local bars that are considered the college bars here and i dont want to go there
they are filled with ppl frommy school
everybody knows everyone else
