I can give you three:
My friend looks after her 2 mentally disabled parents who had 4 children. 2 are totally dependant (in their 30s due to their mental impairment) 1 left home as she could not cope and the 4th one takes care of them all. Not a good situation. Mulitply that a few dozen times.

Someone Physically and Mentally challenged may not be the best candidate to have children. If you're JUST physically challenged having a child wouldn't be so bad especially if you were married with a supportive husband. I've seen many documentaries where physically disabled women have children and are excellent mothers along with the help of outstanding and supportive fathers who aren't disabled. Depending on your mental illness you could have children as well. I mean typical illnesses like ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia aren't bad for kids. But you still have the risk that your child will have those mental problems. But when you are BOTH physically and mentally challenged especially if its critical its going to be hard. First off if you don't have a supportive partner thats a negative. You CAN'T do it alone. Even if you do have a partner you're going to feel left out that you can't participate in some of the important events in your childs life. Then the mental things will kick in and it will go haywire. You also pass a more than 50% risk of your child having a mental AND physical illness and you wouldn't want that! I don't know. It all depends on your situation.

That is not an issue. There used to be this silly notion that someone like that should be sterilized. However, the only people that think that way are those not feel inferior and are scared.
