We are on the same boat. I was a church goer and used to attending mass on every sunday. Things has changed. Like you I have problem with god or more precisely with his religion. I always get the feel that I was in a bubble of delusion and I wanted to get out of there. Having said that, I don't mean that I suddenly become someone else. I am still behaving the same just as before except I don't attend sunday mass as diligently as before. I still believe in God. Its the religion that I has trouble with and I blame God for not helping.

This is just you and me talking right? Well I don't really believe in the organized church. The organized church is a false church. I always reference the King James Version of the bible because I grew up with it and feel it is the least corrupted from the original text, Others feel the language is old and out of date. But here's my reasons:
Jesus tells you how to be with him and have the holy spirit:
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Jesus tells you that you can either believe in God/Jesus or you can go to church and listen to what others tell you:
Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Mammon= Riches, avarice, and worldly gain personified as a false god in the New Testament. The false church.
Jesus tells you where the true church is:
Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Jesus also tells you why the church of man is false:
Matthew 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
No wonder you feel the way you do. Thanks for sharing a little church time with me and our father in heaven.

I don't hate going to church. I don't always go, either.. some times i like to, sometimes i don't. Maybe you are going to the wrong church or going for the wrong reason. As far as problems with God, you may not really know "Him, Her, or Them." Often, the people of the "church" are the problem rather than the place. I can understand your dread, fear, and feeling that you don't belong. I have personal experience of being "forced" to go to church. There are many, many belief systems in our world. I personally hold to traditional Christian belief, my Native tradition, and eastern meditations. I don't think there is one right way, but many possible ways. If you truly wish to be in church, find a place you are comfortable. Or you can pray, meditate, study, worship,etc... at home.

Yes I am 45 and have always had this terrible problem. I have always felt like there was something wrong with me. It may have something to do with a bad embarrassing experience I had in church as a child that has turned me away. Because I can sit at home on Sunday morning and enjoy it on TV. So maybe it is just a physiological & social thing. I hope so anyway, I'd hate to think God thought I didn't like him. !!!! I don't like being around a lot of people whether it is in church or the mall or a gathering. I just don't like that.

Dont go to church...why are you going? Church nothing more than a building. But your relationship with God is what you need to work on. Spend time alone reading the bible and you will find peace, happiness and real understanding. It'll also help you get rid of the "probelms" you have with god. Funny thing, he doesnt have any problems with you. Give him a chance to show you.

I just hate the attitude that most people who go to church every Sunday seem to have. Notice I said MOST people, not all.
They have this attitude like they are so much better than you. When in truth, if they were forced to look back upon things they've done in their own life, they'd see they haven't exactly been following the Bible to a T.

I like to go...I always get a feeling of comfort and I like the music. I don't always agree with everything that is being said or done, but over all I enjoy going.

why would you have a problem with GOD? He is your saviour, the reason you are alive today, and church is a place to worship and praise him for that....and for your own personal fulfillment, to hear the word and apply it to your life....so no sweetie i dont feel that way
