My real life Example: I feel that joining that Navy was a Huge Big and perpetual mistake, but the Job Detailers at MEPS got me to enlist under false pretenses.
I admit, I did make a huge life error, but I am bouncing back from this mistake. Also, if they were truthful with me, I likely would not have enlisted in the first place. It was a mistake, I wish I didn't make.
Example of other people's mistakes; People getting married to the completely wrong person. They knew they were getting into, then the person they married lied about something big.

Hi guys,

I think that I'm being stalked by someone. For a long time they were an online acquitaintance who I got on very well with and I always tried to be supportive but keep a slight distance. It seems at their end though this has mutated into some kind of obsession. I've had a look around and the profile 'Intimacy seeker' seems to fit their behaviour well(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalking)

By an accident they found out my real name and I have found that they've been scouring the internet for any details they can find of me. Despire not having been in contact with them much in recent months I today received a very aggressive e-mail assuring me that 'I think about you on a regular basis and you are a very important part of my (their) life whether you realize it or not'. All this despite the fact that this person has never met me, only ever seen a single, small photo of me. I'm pretty horrified that it's got this far but I don't know how to make things better. What to do?

I'm not talking about orphans or persons whose father died when they were ten or were adopted by natives. I'm talking about people who've been given away by their mothers at birth or soon after and raised by strangers. I've never heard of one.

ok i am a die hard capitalist. I am very much for free trade and what not and against the whole goverment run economy thing. I am wondering if there are any smart, reasonable communists that can explain there point of view on this, because I just can't see how anyone can really believe that will work. In order to save email time here are some pre question rebutals: 1)People don't want to work together and humans are ran by greed so, since capitalism works by everyone trying to get the most for themselves and end up contributing to society in the process, it works better. 2) communism is not an equalizer. in every communist group, excluding hippie communes, there is always diaspora between people. and i'm sure theres some more I can't think of right now

Up until about 2 years ago, I was about 50 pounds heavier than I am today. I had decided that I was tired of being borderline obese so I took the neccessary (but healthy) steps to lose weight. It was a very drastic change and a lot of people complimented me and told me how much prettier/better I looked blah blah. I thought I would maybe feel better about myself but it seems to have only made me more self-conscious. I think that every guy who looks at me, wants me. Every single one. Even my married professors. I think that I can see the lust in their eyes. I don't know if I am just being shallow or what... I also worry I am not nearly attractive as I think I am yet people always tells me I am so pretty. Oftentimes I wish I was fat again so people would stop looking at me.

A few months ago, my local TV news report had a "fluff" piece, a feel-good story at the end of the news. It was about a teenage boy who plays guitar and sings at places like theme parks and so on. He was a very pretty little blond boy who was 14, looked 11, and had been performing since he was 10.

The news report said that he had female fans from ages 8 to 40, and showed some middle-aged women lining up to get his autograph and looking excited, as one does at a concert. The tone of the news report was very much: "How cute is this? And good on him".

I'm not suggesting those women were doing, or even thinking, anything wrong. It's entirely possible they were captivated by his unbroken voice, despite him sounding like Minnie Mouse.

However, I did wonder if the news would have reported the story in quite such glowing terms if it had been a pretty little blonde GIRL singer who was 14 and looked 11, with middle-aged men lining up to meet her and looking excited?

I love her, but she loves him. She came "back" to me to find a house to live with me because she can not stand the people with whom she and her boyfriend are living. In the past three weeks, we did everything from kiss, hug to touch except sex. So I have a deep talk with her, and found out she still love her boyfriend, but she and her bf are having a little problem, they are like "trial separate" at the moment. You know what the problem is? The problem is her anger problem. He gave her four year's time to change it, and she agreed. And I asked her why do you love him, because her bf is kinda short, ugly, poor in study and selfish, and she answers she thought as long as she started a relationship, she's gotta be serious about it and won't end it easily unless the other one do so. She, as the most lovely and sexy woman in my eyes, said she sorta looks down herself. That's why she'd rather be a pet of some low quality guy.

I have been friends with this person for a while, and oddly i still feel like i don't know them that well. In general, he very cold and distant and don't offer much details about himself. He is very hard to read as far as facial expression and tone of voice goes. He is kind of impassive and monotone...but he still seems to function in society as a new college grad. he goes out on the weekend drinking, and he has a really good finance job. I sometimes think that maybe he just dislikes me, but everytime i talk to him he is responsive and chats with me for a while (he doesn't blow me off or say he's too busy) I tell him a lot about myself, but I really would love to know about HIM. Sometimes when i talk to him, i feel like i am a nuisance only because i always initiate contact with him and i begin to doubt myself. I dont know where i stand with him, if i am a nuisance to him, or if he likes talking to me. I want to get him to open up. Does he like me or no? should i just give up?
