I'm not talking about orphans or persons whose father died when they were ten or were adopted by natives. I'm talking about people who've been given away by their mothers at birth or soon after and raised by strangers. I've never heard of one.

I don't know if Nicole Richie would qualify but her father adopted her. Her real father was a member of his band and not sure how it came to be but about 4yrs old Nicole was adopted by Richie.
