Please correcr me if I am wrong, but I am assuming you have never been raped!

I used to say that if I were raped than I would have an abortion, but that was the only circumstance in which I would do it, because I know I could not and would not love that child, and I myself would not want to grow up knowing that the only reason I was here was because of a selfish act on my father's behalf.
But this past November, I had a miscarriage, in which the fetus, which was approx. 4 months in my stomach, actually came out. It was grey. It had a head, and hands and eye sockets and the stubs for the legs. I could see a beautiful little human baby, and it was dead. It was the most horrifying thing I have ever seen in my life. When I hear people say that abortion is okay when the baby is still so young, I cringe, because from the day they are started, they are a human. They may be tiny, but they are every bit as human as the next person.
I will not say I hate abortions, or the people that do them, because I strongly believe that until I have lived my life in someone else's shoes and experienced their life, I am not one to judge them or the decisions they make. This is just something that I have had personal experience with, and can honestly say that I would never have an abortion.

Remember the old one "do not judge, for you will be judged"? Think about it. I assume you would say you are religious. The hate part speaks against it.
Nobody loves abortions, and no woman has gotten pregnant with the intention of having an abortion. There are extenuating circumstances that warrant abortion (rape, health, abuse, finances, etc), and nobody should have the right to decide what "an extenuating circumstance" is but the woman experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.

I am against abortion. Years ago, I thought it was okay, but then I was given some brochures that show the after affects and the little mutilated bodies and garbage bags full of aborted fetuses. I did a lot of reading about it and realized that is something I could never do. I was never in the predicament, but I was having an affair while married, and figured if I got pregnant, I could just abort. I am pro-life now, rape or not. Also, explain to me why if a person shoots a pregnant woman in the belly and kills the baby they will be charged with murder, but abortion is not considered murder? I don't think God is very happy with the ones that perform the deed either.

Why is it that people can not see past their own religion on issues of the body? I see comments like "deal with the consequences of your actions". HELLO, having an abortion IS dealing with the consequences of your actions. Childbirth should be a happy occasion, it should not be negative, so forcing women to carry babies to term, when its not something they want to do, makes no sense. Its actually affects the baby in a negative way. If you do not like abortion, do not have an abortion, its as simple as that. I would never think of ramming my religion down someones elses throat, and so because I respect a persons right to choose their religion, I also respect a womans right to choose what they want to do with their bodies, and how they want to live their lives. I have no jurisdiction of whats inside of another womans body, and neither does any court in the world. This topic has been worn out on this board, and its a shame that some people want to use this sensitive topic as a way to start a war in this section. Anyway im done!

I would disagree with you to a degree. We have alot of people running around our country telling us what to do. We have christians saying abortion is bad but they think the president is right to fight a war. You need to stop the killing of people that are really alive right now. They are the ones that are being cared for by someone. Abortions are not great by any means but in most cases it is the right thing to do. We don't need anymore crack babies and retards in this world. But what we really don't need is a bunch of bible thumpers telling us what to do. Is that what you are doing?

I don't agree w/ abortion. If you are raped that is a good use of the 72 hour pill. But if you think you are responsible enough to have sex then you should be responsible enough to exept the consequences of your actions. I know this from experience. I am a/b to have my 1st child, I am not married and I am no longer w/ the father. I had to suck up my pride and make the decision to have him. And I must say this has been one of the most beautiful experiences in my life, and it can only get better from here!

i don't hate them, i just think they should only occur in certain cases where the child would be born into a horrible life. however, i think we need to focus a lot more on teaching people how to be responsible: use a condom & bc, or the morning-after pill if that doesn't work. i think every sexually active woman should go out and get the morning-after pill so they have it in emergencies. a woman should only get an abortion in the interest of her child (because she doesn't want the kid to have a bad life because she wasn't prepared), not just because she doesn't feel like raising a child.

Pro Choice is not pro abortion. A woman should have a choice on what happens to her body. Should she choose to have an abortion, there should be a safe appropriate setting with trained professionals to assist her with her choice. I do not agree with all the reasons that women have abortions, but women should have to right to choose.
