Everything that has a beginning has an end. What goes up must come down. What goes around must come back around and you will reap what you sow.

I think we are closing in on the end of the world as we've known it. Every year there's less forest and more desert. And if the Ross ice shelf fractures and floats away and melts, and the glaciers of Greenland melt, a huge percentage of the world's population would become refugees looking for higher ground. You would need gondola to get around in every coastal city.

In other words, a cataclysm totally without precedent in thousands of years. One that would nearly equal the effects of the Mt Everest-sized rock that took out the dinosaurs. It won't be pretty, and I think we're closer to it than nearly anyone is willing to admit.

But it won't be the end of the world. Just the end of a whole hell of a lot of people that live on it, and the death of many political and governmental systems, trillions and trillions of dollars worth of buildings and infrastructures, disruption of global agriculture on a staggering scale, wars, famine, and people slaughtering each other over what space, food, and resources are still available.

The notion that the environment can handle any human abuse and continue to sustain our exploding population the way it has for as long as people are willing to remember is a hopelessly short-sighted load of baloney. No matter what the hell Lush Windbag has to say about it.

But the Earth tends to take care of itself. So it's also likely it all might be partially avoided by the unleashing of some sort of killer virus that will decimate the human population in the near future. Who knows what's been locked up for eons in all that melting ice?

It's really hard to say, but I think it's becoming harder to live in this world with intolerance and ignorance, countries shutting other countries out, the rich living off the poor, wars and injustices. I think the world should take a note on what Rodney King said, "Can we all just get along?"

I know that the world will come to an end some day and I hope that its not far a long time. The most important thing to do is to make sure that you are ready to face your maker.

They've been thinking this for the last 4000 or so years. But the scary thing is, they were all right!

There is an economic bubble that is long overdue to burst though.
