I wish my therapist was my mum. Yes - it sounds odd. Has anyone else experienced this? I know that the best thing for me to do is to change to another therapist - but i've only just begun to trust this woman, and starting all over again would be very hard.

A few days ago I spoke to somebody who I know quite well and I was asked what I was doing at the weekend near Manchester, I said I would probably spend time selling things on Ebay as I was short of money. Her reply was "are you joking? the Internet is for sad bast ards" Anyway I got a phonecall last night and she had been arrested for taking part in a huge pub brawl on Thursday night and had a face that looked like she had done a round with a heavyweight boxer. I can't think of anything more sad than that.

It is understood that my female co worker hates me and is jealous of me. I used to talk to her until I was reported over the smallest item.
Even when I did talk to her, she wasn't responsive. When, I join in on the group, she doesn't join in. When, I asked out of concern, she said I was being noisy. When, I went over to get documents for a colleague, she said I was being noisy.

I give up and I have to do my work. I am waiting to find and start my new job.

She is obsessed as to why I don't talk to her.

I am looking for references to current research in cognitive psychology into what are effective methods that people use to organize ideas developed through brainstorming to come to conclusions and solutions to problems. I am interested in a "meta" view as to how people cognitively represent information that starts out disorganized (i.e., as random thoughts) and use those representations to organize the thoughts, determine what is important, and come to conclusions.

You cannot reassign priest that abuse children.

I found it interesting that the word 'Priest' is never used in describing a potential child abuser.

I've done alot of thinking about this subject. What are the cahnces we will know the general "normal" functioning of a brain at a given period of time. I say general period of time because certain things weren't considered crimes back in the day and therefore society accepted that to those things would be "normal" Who knows, cannibalism may be "normal" in the future due to extreme food shortage and will not be a crime, so therefore a Normal brain is an abstract concept rather than a concrete one, because the brain adapts to its enviroment, and society deems you normal when you act accordingly, so is it likely we will be able to acheive a basic underlying genetic blueprint of behavior and rational thought that is in tune with the function of society and an overall sense of security in this that doesn't permeate in the mind as excessive alarm. In the future can we mold people's genetic mental code to a current standard and keep it that way to alleviate crime? It seems possible to me.

Please help. I've been with my girlfriend for sometime now (approximately 9 months). We are in love. In fact, the other day, she finally told me that she loves me, but I guess I just don't understand how she can love me. I am such a BORING person. I never have much to talk about, and I find that she is always initiating the conversation. I love both her and her 4 year old daughter with all my heart. I do everything with them. We go places together, we watch movies together, and we are going to Hawaii in September 08. I've asked her if she is happy, and she says "yes," but I feel like I'm going to lose her due to my dull nature. I try to talk about things, but I get tongue tied easily. My skills lie elsewhere. I just want to be able to have an open, loving relationship with her. On top of my introverted nature, I had a bad childhood where communication was not stressed. I hate being nervous around her because I love her so much. Does anyone have suggestions? Thank you!

I tend to get into bad moods, and I could use some help maintaining a better mood. I'm not talking about happiness. To me happiness is not a mood, it's a realization that things are getting better, or something good has happened. Being in a good mood means you have energy and feel like participating in life.
