Stolen moments, illegal artifacts, things that are off limits are suddenly valuable. Why?

You know those really strange and stupid dreams that you wake up from and feel as if you were really connected to everything that was happening?

Example: I dreamed about my friend being forced to move house because of an evil landlord. I found a way to save her using the bubbles in my custard, but my brother popped them, and I woke up very upset and full of regret.

Of course, this dream doesn't make any sense, regardless of what it might say about my subconscious. Regardless, why do we feel so attached to certain dreams?

I appreciate the answers but I want to follow up. It seems there was a near concensus that morals are determined by the society we live in, or by how we would like to be treated, what is best for the group, common sense, or morals are situational. Some said death is bad, life is good. But what I am trying to get at is if there is no objective universal standard, then things such as rape and murder cannot be evil but only unfortunate for the one recieving it. If we are all products of amoral evolution, then there simply cannot be a such thing as wrongness or rightness. It is only strongest or weakest. But what I find interesting is that even an atheist will object loudly if someone slaps him in the face becasue he insinctively knows it is wrong, not just unfortunate. Likewise if an atheist witnesses a loved one murdered, he will object loudly and emotionally because he knows it was evil, not just unfortunate. But why does he conclude it is evil and not merely unbeneficial?

How can I find out which books written in English have been translated into Japanese?
Question Details: I'm interested in finding all kinds of contemporary fiction, especially stories set in Japan, as well as popular nonfiction on topics like psychology, communication, management, self-help, anthropology, sociology, & 20th-century history. I'm not asking how to locate any particular book, but rather, is there an easy way to get a list of what books are available in both English & Japanese from either libraries or bookstores? (So you'll understand where I'm coming from, the purpose of this search is to help bridge an intercultural communication gap with my Significant Other through reading & discussion--activities we both enjoy greatly, but because neither of us is truly fluent in the other's language, it would definitely help if we could each read the same work in our own native language.)

New kid at my work was really obnoxious. Was a total partier, anti-police, but funny at the same time. Now, I'm usually a pretty cool kid, but he was just over-powering in his want for attention. He was "in" with one of the cooler kids that work there, so he decided to pick on others - namely, me, sometimes, but I would shrug it off, and laugh sometimes, even snap back funnily lol.

But why does he need to be center of attention all the time? Feel the need to steal food?

He talks about people when they're not around. The only ones he picks on is little kids and girls. (He's probably backed down from them) He's bad to the bone, and calls everyone stupid...over the computer. He thinks he's superior, but he's a joke.

Last night I had a nightmare where I dreamed something was under my bed and trying to pull me under by yanking my pajamas. I tried to yell and move, but I felt mute and paralyzed. It was so strange, I don't think it's ever happened before. Has anything like this ever happened to you? If so, what did you do? What do you think this means?

About a week ago, I went to a hypnotist show and got hypnotized there. I don't remember what I did when I was hypnotized, but my friends told me that I did a lot of dancing (Madonna, Beat It by Michael Jackson, My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas, Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-a-lot) among other things (also he apprantly made me think he was insulting my mom). Anyway, last night I dreamed that I was at the show doing some of the crazy things my friends said I did. Are these real memories? BTW, this isn't the first time I got hypnotized (but it is the first time I didn't have a medical professional do it); I've done it three or four times now. I am also easily hypnotizible. I was also groggy for the rest of that night. Hope I'm not being too hard on my brain by all this hypnotizing (I kinda like being hypnotized and want to do it more).

There's this new kid at my work who is loud-mouthed, obnoxious, stupid, FAT, and makes fun of people and steals food.

He stays tight with the "cool" kids, so it's hard to call him out.

I don't know, maybe I'm being too much of a tight wad, any tips to loosen up and deal with this guy?

I recall watching a video in World History about what I believe was an ancient Buddhist temple. It's been bothering me for some time that I can't remember where it is or what it is even called (I would like to visit it someday). It's huge, and covered in carved panels that described the path to enlightenment. Any ideas? It's just one of those things that gets into your head and you can't shake. So, if any of you know anything about archaeology, buddhism, or geography, I'd appreciate it if you'd help me out! Thanks!
