Last night I had a nightmare where I dreamed something was under my bed and trying to pull me under by yanking my pajamas. I tried to yell and move, but I felt mute and paralyzed. It was so strange, I don't think it's ever happened before. Has anything like this ever happened to you? If so, what did you do? What do you think this means?

yes, this usually happens when I am sick. It is really creepy because I am awake mentally, but paralyzed physically. I can't even open my eyes and I try to scream but can't (although I think I am). Once this happened and I asked my husband what I was doing and he said I was making funny noises. I told him if that ever happens again to wake me up. It seems to happen during times of exhaustion when the body is saying to the brain, "I don't care if you are awake, it is unsafe for you to wake up to stay the hell asleep". ? It is pretty creepy.

Uh oh. Those sound like night terrors, and those can be pretty serious. I'd definitely keep an eye on what you watch/read/eat/drink before bed. A cup of chamomile tea with hot milk in it (no sugar!) might help ease your anxieties a bit. Yoga and/or meditating can help, but avoid any exercise that pumps you up, because then you'll be jumpy and nervous all night. If things get worse/don't improve, see a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Believe it or not, they have meds to help cope and overcome this. I've had similar things, and I discovered they stemmed from an irrational fear that I have now gotten over.

Being on my own on the kinfolk residing house. Very pleasant nighttime, stars placing out to twinkle, ultimately cooling off from a warm summers day. i'm status at the front steps, playing the gentle breeze, even as the lilac bush on the far area of the backyard, cracks and strikes and then a wide black snarling panther kind cat may be considered, crouched waiting to bounce. I capture my breath and turn and run into the residing house, slam the door and lock it. and commence respiratory again. i'm backing away even as searching on the door and that i listen a thump and then tremendous claws commence tearing by the panel contained in the door and that is the position I continually awaken, gasping for breathe.

I did this all the time when I was pregnant. It was so bad that I made my husband at the time wake me up every two hours. It can be triggered by stress or hormones I think.
