Why do most automated phone systems have a female voice? What are the benefits of, say, having a female narrator doing voice-overs, as opposed to a male?

am i alone or does anyone else think tv portrays men unfairly?? from watching sitcoms and commercials, all men are incompetent dolts and inept dunces. plus it seems to be perfectly acceptable for women to be rude and nasty to men and even physically assault them. don't get me wrong, i have nothing against good natured teasing among the sexes. but what's going on today is not at all good natured. men have become tv's punching bags and it seems to be a new sport to exploit men's weaknesses and insecurities and flash them around for the whole world to see. now before i'm accused of "whining" or asked if i can't take a joke, watch how many riots and protests would pop up if it was women being portrayed as the dummies that need a man or child to correct them or if it was men snubbing women's advances and being outright rude and nasty to them for a change. no, i'm not a woman hater, i just think it's unfair that women get the egos stroked while men get bashed and ridiculed.

I've noticed some people watch TV or use their computers with their lights off . I've never thought about it -- I just naturally have the lights on . Didn't Thomas Edison invent the light bulb so we didn't have to sit in the dark ? Isn't it easier to see the keyboard with the lights on ? What if you want to write a letter while you're watching TV ? Isn't watching TV or playing with your computer with the lights off basically pointless .?

Is it true many bulidings go from the 12th floor to the 14th floor and no where is a 13th floor listed on the elevator buttons?

Do you work/live in a building where the number 13th is absent...?

At your workplace, do the rooms or offices go from number 12 to number 14 and nowhere is room/office #13 found?

Would you avoid table #13 at a restaurant/dining hall?...of course, just to play it safe !

I'm still not sure whether I'm introverted or extroverted....when I'm around my old friends, I'm comfortable and easy going, but when I'm meeting new people without having my best old friends nearby I feel shy & I find it hard to get engaged in a conversation...at the same time.....I consider myself confident, because I'm always ready to talk about anything, in front of anyone and at anytime, so I'm not a shy person I think...then why can't I adabt the new atmosphere of any new place, or get used to the new people I meet everyday....?

Sure we are completely different in almost every aspect – but when it comes to ego, aren’t women and men equal?
