its friday the 13th today and i have thrown a sickie from work, i am in bed on my laptop and dare not to get up or go out today ,
i am so frightened, what can i do to pray this day goes so quickly.
i won't even answer the phone or make anything on the cooker incase of fatalities please help!!!!

it is now 18:20 and i have not moved from my bed only to run to the loo and get a glass of water.

U know wat u already have made ur day good lol ( u'll know why at the end of this answer) dude u were supposed to b working on this day as usual coz it's the day same like other days infact I'd say if at all any calamity had to occur in ur life it wud anyhow occur.
For eg. If there was supposed to b lightining and thunderstorm and then due to this the whole of the state was to drown wud u have any control over it ? No u won't coz u have to depend on mother nature and the same way Friday the 13th is, as are all the other days it's just the frame of mind and somebodys bad experience which got on and on throughout the years and like all the festivals and independence days are followed the same trait got labelled onto this particular day too, so I hope u just chill and take it easy don't worry too much and chuck it off ur mind bout FRIDAY THE 13TH .
Now that u've already stayed home u mite as well make it fun watch some great movie or make some delicious meal for u and ur family treat them to something good and if not then rest u just got ur much needed rest after all the work u've been doing so thank this day to the max as it just gave u the so blissful rest :D take care.

well Minty here is a true story. A few years ago on Friday the 13th a man in Santiago Chile was laying in bed in the afternoon, because he worked nights, when a light plane crashed into his house and killed him outright , you are not safe anywhere if fate decides your number is up. Is your laptop plugged in? beware of power surges that could eletrocute you! Don't trip going downstairs, it could lead to a broken neck! Today is like any other day it is Superstition that can hurt you!

Did you know that Friday the 13th is actually a very lucky day? It's *unlucky* status was conjured up by the heirarchy of the Roman Catholic Church a few centuries back to instill the sort of fear that you are proclaiming. Get out of bed and get on with it! It's a glorious day out there full of hope and wonder.

It's just another day. The best way to deal with it is to forget about it. I used to believe in friday 13th bad luck, but then one year I didn't realise it was friday 13th, and guess what - nothing bad happened!

I'm just a little superstitious of friday the 13th too. but yeah, you really dont have to put your life on hold. do like the others said, just pretend its another day or sleep it out if its drivin you that nuts

You seem to have a genuine case of Paraskevidekatriaphobia, or fear of Friday 13th.

I hope you're kidding. There's no power behind superstisions. Do you run from black cats and fear for breaking a mirror too? Life is life... a particular date won't bring bad or good luck.
