Talking to oneself is therapudic--
I do it and sometimes I even answer myself- now thats okay too-
the only thing you should start to worry about is when I say "What did I just say?" then I'm not listening!
Then that's another whole can of worms!

it's a way to clear your mind!! Most people do it to relieve stress or to think things through!! Others feel like they can give themselves advice and sometimes, it helps to make the right decisions!!! Remember, some teachers tell their students that it helps to say things out loud? In some cases, it's a way for a person to check to see if they were really hearing or understanding what was flowing through their mind!! It's like a reinforcement as well as a way to deal with certain things. Most people don't even realize they're doing it!! You know that they say that everyone has two personalities and two sides to them so maybe everyone is talking to their other side!!!

Sometimes people talk to themselves just to think out loud, and alot more people than you think do it. But if shes actually having a conversation with herself, then point it out to her. Alot of people don't realize what they're doing

It is just loud thinking !
At school, children are taught to read aloud TO ONESELF to remember it better..... remember ? .... Well, some people remember to remember about remembrance better than to remember not to remember what remembrance does !
Just the disadvantage of something that creeps in as a habit. So better to do things consciously every-time, rather than out of even the so called good habits !
