Let's say that you're in an office or something like that with lots of other people, and armed people come in with guns and say that you all get on the floor. Basically, you're hostage. But lucky you, you have a sharp concealed knife with you (from a Swiss army knife, for instance). Would you risk the lives of others by trying to kill the hostages and saving everybody? Or would you only try to make a run for it and save yourself? Or would you just lay low while the hostage-takers threaten to kill you all if police barge in? Would you wait for the police, or take the law in your own hands? Do you have sufficient combat training? What would you do if the hostage-takers say they will kill one hostage every thirty minutes if your government does not comply with their demands?
It's a horrible decision and situation, but it's unfortunately one that's faced by countless people.

Why do people tell you to "leave if you don't like it" when you criticize and point out the problems and issues this country is having, or if you don't like the actions of the government?

Do they like the problems or just refuse to debate it, and resort to childish, immature comments like this?

AND/OR are they totally convinced that freedom has no enemies in government because their sense of freedom means chaos and control here and there?

What's it mean if I'm VERY VERY VERY interested in serial killers/murders? Does it mean anything? I love to learn about them, I read about them all the time. I'm not a sicko or anything....

I'm just asking this question for fun to see what people think it might mean, though it's true. People have told me that there it has an actual name and whatnot......

Okay, need some clarification, I know.

What I mean is there some point of being in debt, of not being a part of a particular faith or group, of not being a contributing member of society, of not having any liking or love towards others and/or themselves, of already going through the hospitals, the therapists, the meds, etc where it is just simply better for everyone if one was no longer here.

In a nut shell that's the question, once again to stress while I feel this way, I am not presently suicidal (long ago gave up the dellusion of a successful attempt).

Any help would be great, just trying to look for, if possible non standard answers to give a unique perspective.

The government pays farmers to not grow crops so supply doesn't outweight demand, right?

Lots of people pout there need work, right?

Why not let these farmers grow corn, soy, peanuts, or whatever crop can be refined & tured into a cleaner-burning fuel than oil?

This would create work for the farmers, work for the people needing to build the refineries for the new fuel, and work for the people needed to run the refineries. People working in the oil business now could shift to the bio-fuel industry.

If we did this, we could depend on our own oil, not oil form across the world, and it would be better for our air quality. Maybe even thr gas prices would eventually be lower once we had enough stations, farms, & refineries.

It looks like a win-win situation all around. Why can't this be done?

This has happened twice to me. I am loading up my car, and a car pulls up near me. They say they work for an electronics store and have a bunch of equipment they need to give away or it will be thrown away. Obviously, I decline, get in my car, and drive away. I'm sure that everyone does not. What happens to those people who fall for this?

Why is that when I have something like a doctors appointment, plan on going out to apply for jobs, or have some sort of thing I have to do,
I am up all night the night before?
Even when I have things prepared I can always find things I think I have to do.

And heaven help me if I have something big like a move or big trip.
It's a good thing I don't vacation very often.

Do something nice for a stranger today. And tell them to pass it forward.
Good life to you.

We are building a bigger gap between the rich and the poor. Eventually the middle class will disappear and the majority of society will be in poverty. It seems many choose to stay "comfortable". With this I mean it seems those within the middle class as well as upper middle class and most wealthy seem to not think it is their problem to fix society. Others say there isn't anything we can do. But this is OUR country. Class discrimination and the concern of "prestigious" jobs over those in the jobs that are the fabric of everyday living are a major problem, that really do affect everyone, whether they choose to see it or not.

I used to hate Japan because of what they did to China and Asia in general.I hated there culture because it was a copied modified form of Chinese culture which they did not deserve to have!I also hated how much arrogance Japanese people had!My grandpa was in the Bataan death march he escaped from the POW CAMP later on.

I have been calling a few kids Japs for a while because they were jerks towatds me but not all Japanese people are jerks.I have found out that my great great great great parents were Japanese a while ago. There last name was Asura(Ursula) I believe!I couldn't accept the fact that I was being racist to people that share the same background as I! I dont know what to do?I cannot accept this fact that I am part Japanese and that I was being racist towards Japanese.Even in Social studies class I made a China project showing how original and better the Chinese culture was to Japanese (Copied culture).People must accept that Japan is a variant of Chinese culture though!

My wife and I have inherited/adopted an ethopian toddler (long story) What can we do to discipline the child and still build some attachment? Its been a little over eight weeks now and things seem to be getting worse, 3 to 5 temper tantrums daily. We do time outs but seem to have no effect? She will randomly go up and Hit and kick our animals (we tell her this is bad and give her time outs... does not seem to be helping) If she does not get her way she will hit, kick, headbutt.... Scream at the top of her lungs... everyone tells me this is normal toddler behavior... I do not believe it... I know about testing limits but this repeats everyday and seems to be getting worse. If anyone has any suggestions that we might be able to see immediate results please respond... if you have any other questions please respond as well and I will try and give answers... (we do not know the Childs entire history) Her mom calls her weekly and lately she does not want to talk to her?
