I try to be an honest man, but I sometimes feel I have to lie in order to protect peoples feelings, including my own. And I also lie once in a while to weasel out of things I don't want to do.

To me lying is so ingrained in our decision making and self-image and such a useful social skill, they I really can't conceive a life without it. I think the inability to lie would be a mental illness. It wouldn't aid functioning. What do you think?

i have a good friend with whom i feel i am addicted to -- i always want to be with her -- i get jealous when she talks to other people and if she doesnt pay me enough attention... is this a self esteem issue on my part ? she doesnt know how i feel about her.. i am keeping it from her because i am afraid it will ruin our friendship..but i somehow convince myself that she knows how i feel ..that she can tell somehow -and that she is going to abandon me because of it - we have a good relationship (when i am doing my acting job ) i dont want to ruin it with obsessing and jealousy ...we are not sexually involved..we are just friends ..i am in therapy now and i talk about this to my therapist but it i cant seem to shake it --- is there any good books i can read about this or any good websites i can visit to help along with my therapy or can anyone relate to this ? i am so anxious and its taking a toll on my other "Normal" relationships...any advice

I do sense, given the number of shrinks and therapists i've had that some have given up hope. I certainly possibility one given up on me if i've given up on myself) so wondering if that's the criteria, to give up on someone when they have given up on themselves.

If that is the criteria, how can such a person get help? what is to prevent self harm or harm to others from this person if at point where it's not deemed worth institutionalization, or medication, or further therapy sessions. Is it from giving up? is it from the person not having the economic means, the lack of insurance, the lack of support structure, the lack of spirituality or self worth.

I have noticed this has been what i've been asking during the course of my first 12 questions. Maybe i'm still seeking answers, not yet having given up hope, or in finding identiy, or approval for self destruction. I've also found an inability to think about anything else and that this is a trend despite past therapy.

What ways can we solve this issue without being discriminating towards the immigrants? Are you aware that there are U.S. programs that help these immigrants when they have children? Did you know that they come here and have kids and then tax dollars are used for the children?

At the same time these immigrants come here and work. With them doing that farmers and day laboring businesses pay less for the labor that they do.

What is your take on the issue?

Bush is against it. They argue that with the research info gathered, they can possibly cure cancer, learn more about the human body and cure paralysis.

Bush is against it because in order to get the cell it has to be pulled from a human embryo(the baby before it's human) destroying it. Bush says that this is killing human life.

We all know that science can both way, for or against morals and right and wrong. What is your take on this?

How come the psych majors I have dated in my time, (5 different women) all have baggage like you wouldn't believe, like mommy or daddy issues? Then they end up trying to psychoanalyze everything I do because I never introduced them to my parents.

Who keeps you going?
How do they inspire you?
I'm talking about people, no God figures.
People in your life that influence you in a positive way and make you feel like you can do anything.

Why are a good percentage of the English afraid to fly the George cross flag all year round from their house etc, instead of just on St Georges day or a sporting event. Every other UK nation seems to of grasped the idea of being proud of flying their own. Indeed i bet you couldn't go 20ft in the us without seeing the stars and stripes ?

For example when someone posts something racist, sexist, or against homosexuals it gets 75 answers. Why do we pay so much attention to people who piss us off? Aren't we just giving them the attention that they want without really proving our point since the asker only wants to piss us off.

Before Hurricane Andrew formed in the Atlantic a few years back, I had a dream where my family and I were in a building with glass walls for the front. A second later there was rushing dirty, mucky water coming at the building. Before the water could hit us, I woke up. Then Andrew came. Several weeks later I had the same dream. I always thought the dream had foretold the events of the Hurricane. Last night I had a very similar dream where half my family was in my room, and half the other in another. Each room was dark and had only one french door (frame with glass). Similar water came rushing at the room I was in and I fought to keep the door closed. The water did not break through the glass though. In the dream I also saw my brother fighting to keep the door closed against the rushing water as well. In the midst of the struggle, I woke up. Could this be a dream like the one I had before Hurricane Andrew? Do dreams sometimes foretell the future? What significance does this water hold?
