Yes. We are freeing the world with bombs and war (2 wars in 5 years and counting!). We are spreading economic freedom with horrible one-sided trade deals and making sure our companies get special and exclusive treatment at the expense of the native population. We are helping build stable democracies by selling them weapons, because the U.S. is the number one seller of weapons in the world.
Why are their lifestyles disgusting? Because they aren't the American way? So what? Stop listening to Limbaugh and reading the Weekly Standard. Then maybe you'll be able to think.

I think that the USA has shared it's views on democracy... Like take president bush now for example everyone hates him almost but yet he doesn't care... he's trying to do what's best for this country... Yet again he probley gets death threats all day long. But do you see him back down no way... It's not the fault of the USA it's the fault that we the people in the united states don't stand up for our contry most of us don't care about it at all. But when it's in trouble we run to save it don't we... We'll it's the same when the democracy is a war or peace... That's the way i think

There are many reasons the U.S. is hated throughout the world.
-an overly aggressive foreign policy
-interference in the domestic affairs of foreign countries
-nobody likes the guy on top
-the U.S. is the face of capitalism, something the developing world hates
-Europeans are hipocrites who forget that they wrote the book on world domination & imperialism, the U.S. just took it to the next level
-Because of our geographic isolation, we tend to feel less part of the world community, hence we come off as arrogant, or thinking we're the best at everything
-We are too often associated with globalism and nations losing their cultural identity
At the same time, I think many non-Americans speak out in anger and ignorance, like we often do. Given the chance to get to know each other, people often learn that everyone has good and bad.
I'm glad I was born in this country, I love it warts and all, although there are many things I'd like to change about it. As an adult there are many places I would now rather live, but not for political reasons, more for quality of life.
It really gets old when Europeans bash the hell out of your country, when they have their own sordid history.
A closing thought, maybe the world will be much happier with China as the new world leader. I can't wait.

human beings hate usa because of the fact they think of they're the international police. Obama reported he exchange into going to type the international out while he exchange into elected. he merely doesnt get it. Its no longer for the human beings to handle the planet, they could wind thier necks in and type thier very own united states out and not dictate to something of the international what they could be as much as. Iran is an rather naughty united states and could initiate a conflict quickly yet thats as much as them. If usa could merely piss off and go away anybody else interior the international on my own which would be large. Iran is a unload via the way.

I think the main reason why so many different countries hate us is becuase we are arrogant and self centered. Americans have so many privleges and freedoms, we tend to rub it in to everyone. We (our government) is so damn eager to "lend a hand" rather than let these countries figure things out on their own. We went through our fair share of civil wars to come to the conclusions of where we are today. I think if we (our government) left everyone alone and let them learn things on our own, I don't think we would be hated so much. THEN there's the reason that even though countries ask for our help to defend their country, it sort of back fires in our face when we do "lend a hand". It's like they want to bite the hand that helped them. Oh well!

The Roman Empire were thinking exactly like you. If you are really disgusting the rest of the world why are you trying to teach them your system. Let them rot, and of course, you also should not touch their resources. Human history will definetely tell one or two things about you. Look what you give to the world and yourself:
USA is created by terror (you call it Cowboys), genocide of Indigenious American Indians, Slave labour. You repay the world with A Bomb, napalm, and yankee culture. History will talk about you very badly my friend...

Because we try to pretend our way of life is best, and then push our beliefs on others. We pretend we our the kings of this world and stick our nose in EVERYONE's business. Other countries tend to get ticked off at us for that. Sure, we need to protect our country and our interests, but we tend to over reach and dictate too much. We're kind of like a pushy bully who won't leave anything alone.

I can't believe all the lousy answers to this question. People hate us because many of us act like our sh** doesn't stink, when we travel abroad; we think we are the center of the universe; we use many more times our fair share of natural resources, such as oil; we take little interest in other countries, but when we do, we inevitably screw them over.
For example, last year (or the year before) there was a strong movement to legalize marijuana possession in Jamaica. It failed to be passed by their Parliament because our government pressured theirs.
