when babies are conceived (including you and me),our genes are mainly female genes(XX). only on the 12th week does male genes start to develop and it determines the babies gender. sometimes, a fetus is physically male but his female genes or chromosomes are more dominant than the male. so that's why there are gay people. there are also those who are born female but they have stronger male chromosomes, thus we have lesbians. i don't think being gay is a choice, it is rooted in the genes.

Biologically there are homosexual genes. That is when you have more female chromosones in a male. he is born that way. But it rarely happens. This is today has become an excuse for many men who become homosexual.

The chances of becoming homosexual or gay is increased in someone and influenced in their childhood if they've been raised in a family or around a group of friends that are the opposite sex.

While there is some proof that homosexuality is genetic, I think the best proof is reality. If the majority of the world is straight, then why do we have gay people? Do some straight people "act gayer" than others and a few around them pick up on it and are instantly attracted to the same-sex? of course not. The same thing with children who grow up with gay parents like a good friend of mine who is as straight as they come. The nature vs. nurture thing is ridiculous. Nothing in the world changes someone from straight to gay.

Hi. Tough question. Last month's "Science News" had an article on one aspect of gay development based on whether or not a gay male had an older brother. The question was whether or not the mother developed antibodies in response to having a male fetus in her body. The question is just now being studied, but a relatively high percentage of second male children were gay. Really though, who knows. Everyone is still human despite their preferences. Hope this starts you doing some research.

Nobody is born homosexual-it is a state of mind and a choice-and possibly the result of the way they were brought up, and maybe repressed feelings from a traumatic or stressful experience. There is definitely not a homosexual gene.

Homosexuals choose to become gay.
Some people are fruity or what ever, but it is still a choice where they put their sexual organs.

Oh and Dr. Anzr U above is totally full of crap with that stuff about the female chromozomes.

I believe that its genetic. There are some studies that show a part of the brain that has female characteristics and response but they are male, and vice versa with females. Its showing more and more to be born that way. I hang out with MANY MANY gay males and females, and they all say that they knew as a young kid that they prefered the same sex. Always were attracted to them. And as they grew up, it became more obvious and they that they were gay, just didnt say anything until their teens.

I don't think it's one answer. Believe some are born that way and others is a learned lifestyle.
