Making Friends?

I am a very friendly person but I find that whenever I make new friends, they are either a lot younger than me or a lot older than me and I can never relate to people who are my age. Why do you think that is?

I have the same problem. I grew up around older people. I was home schooled so I spent more time with people closer to my mom's age. I found it difficult to relate to people my own age. I had basically out grown them.

Younger people also might relate because you've already been there and done that. Perhaps you are a good role model. And they are interested because of your experience with life. That obviously doesn't make you immature.

As you age you will experience this more and more. Age is simply a number. It does not determine how mature one is. It does not determine ones life experience. So it should not make you feel bad if you don't have friends your own age.

I actually have the same problem...dont know what it is but all my friends when I was younger were like 3 or 4 years older than me. I dont know what it is but I have only had like 4 or 5 friends that are my age my whole life.~

It depends how old you are! The way you feel around people ur own age is the way I always felt. I have lots of friends older than me and younger than me. I don't know why its just the way it is. Don't stress about it! Just as long as you have one good friend everything will be okay!

Maybe the reason y u don't relate to anything that your friends go through is because your really looking not for someone your age u might just be lookin'. Yes........you say you are a nice person but just be yourself and someone will come, that is your age.
