Why do people tell you to leave when...?

Why do people tell you to "leave if you don't like it" when you criticize and point out the problems and issues this country is having, or if you don't like the actions of the government?

Do they like the problems or just refuse to debate it, and resort to childish, immature comments like this?

AND/OR are they totally convinced that freedom has no enemies in government because their sense of freedom means chaos and control here and there?

People don't understand that part of the democratic principle is being encouraged to express dissent, especially with George W's not-so-subtle policy of making dissenters seem unpatriotic.

Your question is right on the money!

People who cannot answer a question intelligently, resort to sarcasm or anger. This is the only way for them to defend a bad choice at the voting booth.

Running away is not the answer to any problem. Addressing the problem to make our country great again is the answer.

Hey Jerry. That's a very good question. When it comes to little things, I would be one of the poeple that would say, then leave, but you seem sincere about your questions and concerns. I now look at you, and people who do the same thing, as people who care about our country most. And I honor you, by the power invested in me, Lol. And just want you to know, thank you. For looking past your own small area, and looking at the big picture for all. Just know, take your claims and view to people that care about the country also, don't bother with people who don't care enough to discuss or converse about these things. People like that miss the point that if you love your country, you owe it to your country to point out when it is on a mistaken course. It is not disloyal to the country, it is very loyal. In physics you have inertia--something on a given path will stay on it unless it is acted upon, and that applies in politics too. If the country is on a good course, fine, leave it alone, but if it is on a bad course, it will stay on it and crash unless patriotic people who love the country stick their necks out and demand that the mistaken course be abandoned.

People often think that if you disagree with them, then you are wrong and they are unwilling to listen to any opinion that differs from their own. So why try to debate with such people? Unless you are being childish and immature and want to pick a fight with someone who disagrees with you.

Some people have a narrow mind and will only allow others to see things their way or take the highway; find others who share your views and then you can have a real conversation and not be told to leave.

They are all just to hard headed to understand what 'criticism' is. Criticism isn't always bad, and its usually for the good of something, atleast for a change for the better.
