Why do they have the tendency to fly around in "circles" (actually with sharp angles) in the middle of the division (when inside the house) or just in one place (when outside), instead of covering the entire room or a larger area?

I would like to do some studies of mice. I have read an article on scientists who did studies on laughter of animals. It really inspired me to conduct some sort of experiement of my own. I do not want to hurt the mouse in any way. What could I do?

My cat (who only goes outside in the back yard) keeps catching the poor things and bringing them in the house!! I know it is in the cats nature to hunt birds so how can I keep them out of my yard!! (It is for their own good!!)

On Hollyoaks tonight, someone said that spiders have no heart or lungs. My mate found this very interesting but i personally cannot see it being true. Anyone know for sure??

There was a CNN report in the 80's about some spiders with a six foot leg span that had grown beyond the ability to even walk. There were only a few of them, and they died quickly. They were found near Hiroshima. This is a real story so don't tell me it's not. I saw the report on it, so don't bother answering unless you can actually help me please. Thanks!

Last night I was in my living room and on the floor was a bug (like a small beetle thing (yes I killed it). And near it was a slithering thing about as big as a 2 or 3 inch piece of yarn/string. It was moving like a snake and before I had killed the other bug I thought that this long thing was its tail. Could you tell me what it was? (the long slithering thing!!)

the other day my son was digging up some rose bushes by our house, he found a cacoon about 2-3 inches down in the dirt. it's dark brown, about 3-4 inches long, as thick around as a plumper hotdog. if you look closely you can see a wing-like structure, so it will be some kind of butterfly or moth, but we'd like to know if anyone can help us identify the type. we've never known of any that burrow to morph. it's way too big to be a cycada. thanks for your help!
