Last night I was in my living room and on the floor was a bug (like a small beetle thing (yes I killed it). And near it was a slithering thing about as big as a 2 or 3 inch piece of yarn/string. It was moving like a snake and before I had killed the other bug I thought that this long thing was its tail. Could you tell me what it was? (the long slithering thing!!)

Okay I live in the USA and it was a thin and long as a piece of string and it didn't have legs and it reminded me of a tiny tiny tiny snake but not really....

If the long slithering thing had legs ( an important piece of information) then it might have been a millipede or centipede. Look up there pictures and see if it looks right.

It could be a few things. Small/baby snake, centipede (usually flat and reddish (in my area at least) with many legs), or a millipede (the beck looks like a long potato bug/rolly polly with so many legs you can't see them unless you are close). My best guess is one of the last two because it was probably about to eat the beetle.

Could be a millipede or a centipede. You can find them lots of places. And they can get that size. Hope this helped!

Sounds like a millipede or centipede, maybe.

im guessing it is a millepede, becuz you said you didnt see any legs, and CENTIpedes have legs on the side of their bodies, so you would have seen them, MILLIpedes have legs under their bodies
