Why do they have the tendency to fly around in "circles" (actually with sharp angles) in the middle of the division (when inside the house) or just in one place (when outside), instead of covering the entire room or a larger area?

One reason is that insects have some hardwiring in their brain that steers them towards light. Where are most lights in houses? In the middle of the room. So, as the insect is flying, one eye picks up more light than the other, so it veers towards it, but then it's past the light source and it keeps spiralling inward until it lands on the light.

I don`t know why a fly hovers around you in ciircles. It can be very annoying at times too.

Maybe because you just killed a relative and is making it harder for you to swat?
