The chimpanzee females have a medium cycle of 36 days, those of bonobo of 45 and those of gorilla 30.

Overall, gorilla's have a very similar menstrual cycle as humans do. In fact, their whole reproductive physiology is rather similar to ours. Gorillas reproduce the whole year round; they are not seasonal. The average length of the menstrual cycle is about 31.3 days. It is divided into the same phases as the human cycle, with the follicular phase lasting about 18 days, followed by a one-day long estrus, and a 12 day long luteal phase. The endocrine correlates of these phases are fairly similar to those found in humans. So, overall, the cycle is more like a human cycle than a dogs.
