I know out of the 2500 (or so) species of snakes about 600 are venomous. But how many are dangerous to man? For my sons school project in case you were wondering.

I was talking to my mom about the pair of ducks that always seem to be in our yard (one male, one female). I thought that only penguins have one mate for life. My mom said that ALL birds have one mate for life. Is this true? Why?

I recently had a colony of honeybees move into my work cabinent about the size of a refridgerator on my carport about 3 weeks ago. I cannot get close to it to open the door nor do I want to. I was wondering about how big is the nest inside by now after 3 weeks? Will it already have honey probably? Are they there for good or could it just be a possible stopping place? WHAT DO I DO? I will eventually need my tools. Any help or advice will be gladly appreciated! Thanks!

My teacher, Mrs. Sweeny, says that animals do not think.
I wish I could prove her wrong! (By the way she is not my science teacher) Does anyone know any websites or books where I could find something about this topic.
I beleive that some animals can think, but some can't.
I think that a jelllyfish mostly relies on instinct because it does not have a brain....But, an animal that is more complex...like a dog, bird, chimpanzee, dolphin, or reptile can.

Can anyone share their opinion on zoos?
Whether they're good for animals or they aren't bad.
I know that people think that zoos are horrible and animals aren't meant to be in captivity, but why is it so bad?

Can you explain why we should shut down all zoos?
How about why not?

I dont understand why some people think that they can read animals minds and that they can't decide whether they are happy or not.
