Could the change in climate in the UK, in particular, be due to other factors, for instance, it is no longer a great industrial centre, workshop of the world, as it was in the 19th century and early 20th century, so the air is cleaner with less pollution from heavy manufactoring industries?

Chapter 11, specifically titled "Ambush: The Warming of the World", concludes, "In the U.S., as the evidence for the seriousness of global warming mounts, the political will to do something about it seems to be shriveling". Around the same time, Rush Limbaugh was fond of saying, "There is nothing that we can do to change the planet's climate, why we couldn't change it if we tried - the Earth has an unlimited ability to heal itself." Now, who turns out to have been more correct? (The book is copyrighted 1997 by the Estate of Carl Sagan)

I only enjoy snow on Christmas day. Other than that, I could do without the blizzards, ice, warming my car up, scraping my car, sliding, wearing a huge annoying coat, being cooped up, freezing wind.........I could go on. Who actually enjoys this?
