The debate, as it takes place in popular media in the U.S., is between:
- lobyists who have stakes in the denial of human-caused global warming (such as the automobile industry) and the politicians they support (republicans), and
- lobyists who have stakes in the acceptance of human-caused global warming (such as ecologists who need their research to be important), and their politicial alies (democrats).
So in the U.S. it's just a political debate and it doesn't really matter what the truth is. In the rest of the World (except Australia) there's less of a debate since science and politics is less interwoven.

Global warming is caused by a combination of excessive amounts of "Greenhouse Gasses" such as CO2, and also the lack of ozone. Ozone is O3, and it forms a layer around the earth, it is strong enough to absorb or reflect UV Radiation (ultraviolet radiation, also causes sunburn) back into space where it can't harm us. But when CO2 cuts a hole in the ozone layer, the UVrays get in and unless they find that hole again, they can't get out, so what happens is the CO2 absorbs the UVrays and that's what causes the heat, and when a gas gets hot, it spreads out and transfers energy to other gases it mixes with, causing a "global warming"
My solution to this is everything that runs on gasoline or any other fuel that puts out CO2 fumes or CO fumes, switch to Hydrogen fueled equipment, everything from cars to lawnmowers all Hydrogen Powered for a few reasons: one, Hydrogen is almost infinitely available, all you do is split water molecules, an also as a result you are adding more oxygen to the atmosphere and can fill the hole in the ozone layer, all that just in the process of getting your hydrogen fuel, two: All you put out from burning Hydrogen is H2O or water, which is completely harmless to the environment, in fact one thing the world needs is more clean water and this can provide it, and thirdly, since Hydrogen comes from water, water is all around us, every country will have its own Hydrogen source available to it because every country has water... This means No more wars over fuels...then my final reason is that Hydrogen, being almost infinitely available, and should be more efficient than any gasoline, should be cheap to buy. Now I don't know how much It would cost to produce the Hydrogen splitting processes but That should not matter much in the price of Hydrogen fuel...
IF my theories are correct, and everyone cooperates, the whole global warming issue will be solved within ten years of the switch to Hydrogen fuels, I just hope we get started soon enough...

Through the process of drilling for ice core samples, scientists have found that the earth has gone through 7 ice ages so far, six of them occurred long before man was present on earth. Considering this, I would have to say that there must have been at least six global warming trends and man, along with any other mammal for that matter didnt create them! I am sure there is some truth to the fact that we are changing our own climate but I can also say that it would have changed with, or without us! Man, to a certain extent has been able to adapt. This is part of evolution. (I am gonna hear from the creationists over that, although there is far more proof of evolution than creation)......I also think we should be far more worried about a meteor smashing us to smitherenes as astronomers have found some odd 2000 asteroids that cross the earths orbital plane around the sun yearly and are finding more of them on a weekly basis! As far as global warming goes, if we make it past the asteroids, we next need to find a way to create our own controllable environment! If God wanted us to survive, it would be the next step in our survival because no matter what we do, some day the earth will no longer exist! The sun will slowly die and engulf the earth!

Lets see here... Change the land scape... pump some gasses into the air and water. Fill the planet full of electrical devices that make heat. Expect no change. Derf Derf. How much of a change and what kind of a change it has had idk. For all I know it could be keeping the earth cooler but I highly doubt it. I guess an interesting question is if global warming was happening how would we even begin to try and counter balance its effects. Its kinda like a snowball on the top of a mountain. Once you get it rolling it starts out very small but sooner or later its huge and takes a ton of energy to stop but IT can be stoped. I have a feeling that inorder to fix the worlds problems alot of rich people are gona have to give up something they love very hard for a greedy to do... And we are all rich living on such a wounderful planent.

The scientists that studied Venus decades ago came to the conclusion that excessive CO2 gases prevent long wave (ir) radiation from escaping back into space. This was to answer the question "Why isn't Venus more like earth?". Venus is almost identical in size to the earth and is also the closest to earth. From that analysis of studying the solar system they leaned that earth has these gases as well. The next question that was asked was... "well, we are increasing CO2 in our atmosphere, what will happen?" Scientists created climate models and the scenarios from their research have showed increasing temperatures. Climate is always changing. However, "rapid climate" change is not good. Why? Well Lot's of major cities worldwide are at sea level. And in the past when rapid climate change happened it resulted in mass extinctions of animals. With sea levels rising in the future from this it will make the Katrina disaster look like a puddle. To conceptualize it, take New Orleans and multiply that result for every sea level city. Now add up the costs. And finally, thank your corporate oil greed mongers for marketing "global warming" science into science fiction.

Not a theory
What is a theory are the causes and effects on the planet.
It is very much happening, and it is now very much in the forefront of people's minds.
As technology develops, and we can find fuels, and alternate resources - the world will be a lot safer.
Here's interesting fact. When 9/11 happened, and all airspace all over world was ground to a halt. Scientists noted that the earth's temperature - dropped by 1 degree in 48 hours!!!
That doesn't sound much but its pretty significant!!!

We are the ones causing it. The planet is getting warmer and warmer every year. The atmosphere is depleting. As the atmosphere deplets more and more, the Sun is getting through more, which is why it is getting hotter. If we don't make some drastic changes soon to help save the planet, it's just going to keep getting hotter and hotter until our bodies or the panet can't take it anymore.

Undecided. Is the threat real? I honestly don't know. But better safe than sorry. Regardless, making the planet cleaner is a good thing whether global warming is real or not.

Global warming is not under debate, it is occurring. Do humans cause it? That's the debate.
I say we are causing it b/c it appears to be happening faster than any other "heating" that we can see in archeological/geological records.

iglobal warming is increse in the earth temprature due to become hole in the ozone layer which is present in trophosphere, due to which UV radiation come to earth surface & cause heating effect, .
the hole in the ozone layes is made due to useof chemical & gases which degarde the ozone layer,
human shoud take care of this & prevent the life of earth , &save proganies
