Could the change in climate in the UK, in particular, be due to other factors, for instance, it is no longer a great industrial centre, workshop of the world, as it was in the 19th century and early 20th century, so the air is cleaner with less pollution from heavy manufactoring industries?

The Pollution might have accelerate it a little but still whatever the change causes I believe it is natural.
If you look at earth’s history the climate changed from warm to cold and from could to warm.
UK at the moment has some very hot periods but it is happening in the whole world.
I'm sure in the not to distance future there will come a cycle of cooler climate with a lot of rain and flooding.

The climate is very complex and multicausal. There's no doubt that man-made pollution causes changes, but when a volcano blows its top, it makes anything we can do pale into insignificance. Neither do we fully understand the natural cycles of our planet, with it's internal core of glowing hot lava, nor how tiny increases or decreases in the sun's output also affect our weather long-term. Just slapping the label "global warming" on a problem doesn't always help.

What climate change? don`t believe the hype, just a small glitch in the weather pattern, Certainly the air is cleaner, I think, apart from all the `greenhouse gasses` that we are supposed to be putting into the athmosphere, no mention of the 20 or so active volcanoes in the world pumping mega tons of rubbish into the air. No mention of the `Smogs` we used to have either. Maybe it`s all to do with making money, eh?
Food for thought.
