Remember that light is not solid matter; it's energy. This is why it travels at 186,000 miles per SECOND. Besides that, it has no weight. Solid matter has mass and weight. Please give your research along with your answer.

I have heard that using diamagnetic forces and rare earth magnets I can make things or magnets levitate. I have the rare eath (neomydium) magnets. What are some houshold items that I can use to make somthing hover (whether it be a magnet or an object). Really want to levitate somthing. Help Please. P.S. I know that this question is vague and not very well asked, but Please, I need answers.

When you mix up a cup of cappuchino (say), and begin stirring it round and round, the spoon makes noises as it scrapes around the bottom of the cup. Or a milky drink, ...-whatever.

But as the rotational velocity of the liquid increases, the pitch of the stirring-noises decreases as if a Doppler effect were taking place. Why? The ears hear both receding and approaching wave-fronts simultaneously.....

And as you cease stirring, or stir more slowly, the pitch rises again, and falls again as you stir faster again. You can repeat it over and over... it seems to have something to do with the density and viscosity of the liquid, and its rotational energy, but I can't understand the phenomenon.....

Ever since I took basic physics and learned about the Right Hand rule for Torque, I could never figure out why would this rule is the way it is. I mean, if you are facing a wheel and turn it counter-clockwise, why does it always direct (point) towards but not away? I would really love to read about why this is, because I've researched briefly on some search engines and most of them just explained torque as change in direction and its equation formulas. So far, it just seemed like the creater for the law of physics for this universe just "picked" a direction to point when you rotate things...

Modern kettles with elements below the base start very noisy and reduces till boiling.
Older designs with a culy element in the water get noiser till boiling point.

While I have some notion of what Entropy is qualitatively reading around, but I have no idea why dS = dQ / T exactly. Specifically why you divide by T. That is, why Entropy is exactly inversely proportional to temperature.

Is this just an arbitrary definition? or does it actually predict some some phenomenas. If so, what quantitative scientific observation does it predict?

Why is it, only under cold weather conditions to you have to rub a fluorescent bulb, perhaps with a moist cloth for it to become lit; whereas in warm conditions they light as soon as you turn on the switch? I think it has something to do with the flow of charges.

I'm having trouble solving this question, any help would be appreciated:

a) Two parallel plates having charges of equal magnitude but opposite sign are separated by 10.1 cm. Each plate has a surface charge density of 39.9 nC/ m2. A proton is released from rest at the positive plate. Determine the potential difference between the plates.
b) What is the energy of the proton when it reaches the negative plate.
c) What is the speed of the proton just before it strikes the negative plate.

If you someone could give me a step by step of how to solve this I'd really apprecaite it.

1. During respiration, o2 combines with co2 and also releases energy in the form of heat. Where does this heat come from? Does it leave co2 cold? But we breath out warm co2.

2.Why do gas molecules of the same element not become solid under a little pressure? Why do they get away from each other?

3. Why do the gases stay afloat? why don't they fall on ground? Why do light gases rise up despite the presence of gravity?

what I hear is electric and my arms ache
the walls are washed clean
left wet and smooth
in an hour they will be
shrivelling and drying in the still
shrill emptiness of a vacant room
thunder bellows
grumbles and echos
angry with the the sea perhaps
or me
the sea shifts and swells into great breakers
they form and foam and surge
rush to shore crash and splinter
they are like great grey whales breaching
turning falling back
grey on grey on grey
the sky is indiscernible
It is a world of wet
water rain
I redistribute my weight
and stretch for a better look
of the lightening ahead
the sheet of brilliant day
illuminates the air
I see a shadow, feel
a darker grey in the distance
is it the palms bending?
and more rain condensed there
and
beyond there the thunder recedes
hurries back
to shatter the possibility of silence
calmly life that old life, ancient electric life
waits with me behind the curtain
