absolutly no light, all is reflected and you had a little one way mirror about one millimeter in diameter in which no light could escape from the shere(it could only enter) and you shone in with a high power laser, what would happen?
would it heat up and explode or would there just be an intense build up of light or what?

Or does it depend on whether you're wearing it in the day or night?
My wife insists that wearing black will make me feel hotter but I'm thinking at night it should make me cooler since it helps dissipate heat faster and there's no sunlight so it won't absorb the heat.

Please help me out so I don't have to give up all my black t-shirts!

An object is only visible only if the light is reflected from it. If the object absorbes light does it become invisible?

And furthermore, with enough research, could we actually prove that history WILL repeat itself, and when?

I am interested in the values I.E. Do the magnets lose or gain strength ? Do the radiating fields change their configurations? Are any photos available which depict the fields while they are outside of the earths magnetic field? I am interested in any information which may be available including links to sites...Thanks in advance Larry

...any physicist here could explain?!? Need explanation about CURRENT, VOLTAGE, & FORCE caused by LIGHTNING here...

My boyfriend got strucked by a lightning once. He was outside reconstructing the famous Benjamin Franklin kite experiment when lightningbolt stroke him! I was so panicked that he vaporized in front of my very own eyes! Fortunately, he was just thrown away (O.M.G!) violently and hanging restlessly in huge tree nearby... weak and paralyzed! Glad that he survives and lives healthily today...

But I confused now... wouldn't people just die instantaneously if they got strucked by lightning? How did my boyfriend NOT die after getting STRUCKED... instead he's just thrown away violently by some such of magnificent FORCE?!? What kills some people actually when thet get strucked by lightning? What's the voltage-to-current tolerance for people to survive after getting electrocuted?

There are two planets M and N one light year apart. A rope is attached on one planet(say M) that spans the entire distance between the two planets. A heavy object is tied on the other end of the rope so that it is hanging above the surface of the other planet( say N). The rope is perfectly weightless, inflexible etc. There is tension in the rope because gravity of the planet N pulls the object suspended from it. Now the rope is cut from the planet M. Explain what happens!! The time and events taking place on both planets ? starting from the instant the rope is cut at planet M .
( We know information cannot travel faster than light)

According to newton law of motion every action has an equal and opposite reaction but if we fall from a tall building we hit tthe ground and apply action on the ground and as a result we should get an equal and opposite reaction and v should go upward. It does'nt happen.WHY???

A fly moving due North at 40 mph collides with a train moving due South at 80 mph.

An instant later the fly is travelling opposite to its original direction.

The fly must have been decelearted to zero velocity before it could be accelerated in the opposite direction.

If the fly is at zero velocity the train must also, at that instant, be at zero velocity?
