how can you know you are a spiritual healer but not know how to use your "gifts"? i think the only way to control your powers is to stick your thumb up your butt and use it as a joystick....

There are devices that you can use that help to stimulate delta wave production in the brain. This helps induce deeper sleep and claims have been made that more vivid dreams are one of the results.
You state that you're a spiritual healer, but don't know how to use your gifts. How do you know your a healer then? Because the medicine man told you? I don't mean to question your beliefs but you seem very unsure of them yourself.

All you have to do is rememeber to wake your consciousness in your dreams. You can do this by reminding yourself to realize that your dreaming while you're awake, several times a day.
Once you are in a dream with your consciousness awake, look at your hands. When they start to distort, look somewhere else and return to your hands. Practice this as much as you can until you matser your dreams. You can do anything then... dream body wise.
If you smoke... you can wake you consciousness in your dreams if you wear a nicotine patch before you fall asleep. Be careful not to wait too long or the nicotine will keep you awake. But your conscious mind will think you're awake because you are taking in something that you normally take in while you are awake.
Once you can master your dream body with your will (you practice this by controlling your dreams) you can better know how to be a spiritual healer.

I know for a fact that every night we do dream. It is just a matter of remembering what we "saw" and "heard." I don't know how I can help you with remembering your dreams, but maybe try sleeping a different way. For example, if you sleep on your back, try sleeping on your side. If you sleep on your side, sleep on your stomach. This might help. It seems to me that when your brain is in a different position at night, your thoughts are different. . .;)

People tend to not remember their dreams after they wake up. I had an English teacher have us write down our dreams as soon as we woke up. This works, but it take practice to develop this.
