A bomb is a type of explosive device. A bullet is another. Your car's enginer could be considered another. Device is a more all encompasing term. Alot of times the terms are used interchangeably or when people discovering the device or dealing with it like your ordinance and bomb crew people have found "an explosive devicve" but don't know if it's UXO (Un exploxed Ordinance) an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) a detonator with or with our a charge attached to it etc. They'll say "he has some type of nuclear device" meaning they don't know if it's fisionable or a dirty bomb or geiger counter.

Or sometimes people want to look intellegent and call it a device because it sounds like they know what all the types of device might be and if they said bomb people would react like, "sure like you know what a bomb is, you don't even know the correct term is a device."

These are the same cheesedix that correct your for calling am M-16 a gun by telling you it's a rifle or a weapon, "because it's military" If you look up the definition of a gun it fits the M-16, M-9, SAW and M-Anything that shoots bullets. Same thing for bomb. If it blows up, it's a bomb. I

Device is the easy word. It means something that has been devised, a planned thing, something someone thought about doing, then did it. A nuclear device is an especially devious devising. It's nothing I would have thought to do. The more difficult word is warhead. It takes a head full of war to devise such a devious device as a nuclear weapon. Words is just words. It's up to your listening abilities to decide if the words mean something to you, because then words can become information. The operative information here is if you call something a bomb it's probably some ordinary combustible chemical, but if something is both a weapon and a device, it will probably do some major damage if you detonate it. I would urge that those who are in control of such devices please refrain from detonating them. Thank you.

The way I see it, a bomb is something dropped from a plane that explodes on impact. An explosive device is something that is detonated in place, by lighted fuse or by wires or radio to an electric circuit. So a nuclear device is an explosive device - it is meant to be placed somewhere and remotely detonated, whereas a nuclear bomb is meant to be dropped from a plane or shot as part of a missle. People tend to "trim" language in everyday life, so there is a strong tendency to refer to anything that blows up as a bomb.

bcoz it blasts but after a simple process. when the bombs fall down then the TNT explosives on the head pulls the uranium kept on the tail of the device. due to such a high energy the uranium particles overcome the activation energy and starts chain reaction and releases huge amount of energy in a rapid time.

would i will be prefererd to collect 10 points.

I would guess that "device" is a vague term used during the Manhattan Project to obscure its purpose for security reasons. There were a number of odd little security measures that were taken with respect to terminology, scientific notation, etc.

Device is a fancy word for "a thing that does something". So I would imagine that they call it a device so it sounds cooler.

It's shape follows it's function and can be used by people to bring a good thing like a sudden hole to do something with or unfortunately wickedly wise people use it to destroy other people and things. Sadly.

Peace!
