All mass produces gravity. Ever massful particle, every atom exerts some gravitational force on other massful particles.
Physicists are still trying to produce the details how gravitational fields behave, theories of gravitons (the particles when mediate the field), etc.

ALL MATTER IS SELF GRAVITATING, in response to a previous answer. I have studied a lot physics
imagine space as a big trampoline mat.
put lot of marbles on the mat, they just sit there as the mat is level.
add some more marbles, if two are close together they will roll together as they are both slightly sinking the mat. If there is a thrid marble nearby it will roll towards the other two. If there are enought marbles in one area they will all roll together.
This is very similar to gravity in 3 dimensional space. Imagine the sun as parking a car in the middle of a massive trampoline and the earth is marble 100 yards out (this is pretty well to scale for our solar system). The car will make the marble roll in a big circle, but the two are not close enough that the marble can not escape the pull of the car.
In reality, each atom possesess gravity, get enough together and their gravity combines. Get large hunks of matter like a small moon and the combined gravity starts to crush space, making it tighter, so in three dimensions other objects are noticebly attracted to it.

Newton's universal law of gravitation. We've all heard the apple falling on Newton's head... leading to his theory of gravity (lol). The universal law of gravitation ennunciates that all bodies, even atoms and subatomic particles, establish a gravitational field around them. This field is idle until it interacts with another mass. In which case the force on either mass can be described by : F= G*(M1*M2)/r^2.

In order for each planet to have its own gravitational field every planet, as well as our sun, must have its own energy source. In order to perform work, which a gravitational field does (i.e. hydroelectric power) it must have an energy source. Our planet expends 0.00444 kg. every second in order to keep things in place. Our sun expends 665 lbs. every second.
The energy source is the heat energy contained within each mass. Were the planets to have no internal heat energy, then they would have no gravitational field. Nothing is self-gravitating. No body in space "owns" its own gravity.Space curves and warps around planetary orbs,l;ike elastic, squuzing down on the space displaced by the sun or planet.
Gravity is a universal force that works to hold everything in the universe closer together.It's opposite is the cosmological constant, which
tries to pull everything apart.
What will win?Will the Universe scrunch down into a black hole--or spread out into endless dust? Or balance in the middle, like it is now?

Any thing with mass, like stars and planets, produce the phenomenon of gravity. Gravity itself is a distortion of space caused by the presence of mass.

In the earth sense, we have an iron core and polorized tops making us magnetic. I have to assume that is similar for other planets as well.
