An object is only visible only if the light is reflected from it. If the object absorbes light does it become invisible?

An object that absorbs all the light that falls on it, then it is called a "blackbody". If an object allows all light that falls on it to pass through unimpeded, then that's an "invisible body".

Many objects absorb some light while reflecting some as well. What happens is the light is converted to heat. If an object absorbs ALL light that is incident upon it, it will be invisible. An example is a black hole.

The only way for something to become invisible is when no light waves touches the objects, but rather pass through it. if an object absorbs light, then it will turn to black because no color bounces from the object.

If the object does not reflect light it becomes invisible to the human eye.

To become invisible the object must be able to bend light around itself. From an observers perspective, it would look like you are looking right through the object. This technology is currently being worked on using fiber optics. I read about it a few weeks ago. Below is an article on another invisibility technology.

if an object absorbs light then it seams to me it would be visible, if an object passes light then it could be transparent or invisible, but not always look at glass it passes light but yet reflects glare making it visible, if the light was not reflected by the seemingly "invisible" glass it would seam invisible but yet is still visible when you look really hard...I really don't know the answer to your question but check at the source link below...good question and hope you find your right answer"

If it absorbs all light, it appears black. If it reflects back all light falling on it, it appears black. If it allows all light passing on it to pass through it, it becomes invisible.

If it absorbs light, then it would appear as a black hole, but for appearing invisible (so that you can see THROUGH him), light must pass THROUGH him. A black object is NOT invisible..

no, if an object refracts light and reflects the objects behind it will become invisible.
