When you jump off that building, not only are you falling towards the Earth, but the Earth is falling towards you. That's an equal and opposite reaction. You just won't see it because it's minuscule in size, because the Earth is so much bigger than you are.
Likewise when you hit the ground, not only do you stop your motion towards the ground, but the stop the tiny motion that the Earth had towards you. Again, an equal and opposite reaction.

As Newton said, You will certainly receive "an equal and opposite reaction" all right - and probably a sufficient enough one to cause your death!!
You hit the ground and it, effectively, returns the same force to your skull and bodily parts causing the crushing and caving in of your bones and innards!

You are right but your question is too theoritically
when we hit the ground (action) the ground also made a reaction that is equal in magnitude & opposite in direction, in this case we go upward BUT our weight cancels that reaction becouse our weight is so much bigger than that reaction (so we can't see the distance that we go upward becouse its too small)
In case of small weights (like ball of football), its weight is NOT too big to cancel the reaction so we can see it drop on the ground & go upwards & drop again & go upwards &..... etc. (here we can see the distance that the ball goes upwards)

When you hit the ground the energy is past into the ground and travels all the way through the earth, dissipating gradually, until it reaches the other and a bird will be knocked off a tree somewhere.

There is an equal and opposite reaction- that's what crushes our body when we fall. If it weren't for gravity, we very well would go upward.

okay silly blader ..........listen.
equal n opposite reaction doesnt mean the "same" reaction!!!!!!!
what it means is that energy is not lost....its only transferred.
n it can happen in a million ways.....not necessarily in the same way that it occured.

The human body is an excellent shock absorber. That's why you don't bounce - you become all squishy.
