So my mates and I were mucking around in a tree and I slipped and fell three metres or so out onto the ground. I was unconsious and my mate called for an ambulance. Woke up five days later, was told I had been put in an induced coma, and had and operation to reduce brain swelling a pressure/drain fluids and another to put pins and rods into my ankle which was smashed. I had amnesia from the day of the accident and barely remember my stay in hospital. Last night I had a dream / consious thought and could feel the doctor putting the tube into my throat and the pin and rod in my foot. Could they of operated on me without anesetitic as I was in an induced coma or was it just me remembering nothing? Im still suffering head pain and need to get another MRI this week as doctors think my headahces are caused by more bleeding! Shi* IM scared

I'm writing a paper about people with achondroplasia - those people used to be called Dwarves.....for some reason, it just seems "not right' to use the term achondroplasics......

Now there is a question I never thought I would ask....

Thanks all....Be well

you wouldn't have to go to a doctor (or pay a doctor bill) to get some meds that you know you need. Why do you have to pay for a doctors appointment to get a refill on blood pressure meds when a pharmacist could easily take blood pressure measurements and send blood samples to the lab to check for potassium levels and other adverse outcomes? Don't we not pay enough for healthcare, without having to pay for unnecessary doctor visits?

How do I go about finding a doctor or my medical records for a surgery that was performed in 1994? He was a private practice and I think has retired as he's no longer listed in the clinic or hospital of which the surgery was performed. I'd like to have a copy of my medical records from this surgery as I was never fully explained, at the time, what was taking place and how I'd feel afterwards. I was young, dumb, and eighteen.

A doctor started me on thyroid medication and something else that is an antidepressant. I actually started to feel better and now a friend I haven't seen for a long time shows up and starts mixing up margaritas and kamikazes. I don't want to sound ungrateful so I just keep drinking them. I skipped doses because of daily drinking of both medications and now feel really warped and screwed up. Like I said, don't want to sound like a jerk because he pays for them after all.

I found a round, very pink pill and i was just wondering what it is. There are no markings except one side is scored. It is rather large, maybe 1/2 inch in diameter. I dont't have a clue what it is but I would love to find out what it is.

When going in for surgery wouldn't you just need an anesthetic to remove the pain and a sedative to make you go to sleep, why would a paralytic be used? There seems to be no reason to cut off the control of the muscles.
