Can anyone tell me what this medicene is used for and if they are dangerous or addicting or if they know of anyone who takes them how it affects them? My friend acts weird on them I am worried about him.

I am 36 weeks, 2 days pregnant. I had preeclampsia with my other child & now I am showing signs of it again. I went to the doctor today & my bloodpressure was 138/90. Although it's not quite hypertensive, it's higher than normal. No protein in my urine but I have had other signs- swelling that never fully goes away & I get swollen very quickly from the slightest thing- just being up & walking around the house or doing a small household task. I have been laying down most of the time, the doctor hasn't put me on bedrest though. I also have had 2 very bad headaches in the last 2 weeks that each lasted between 14-16 hours before going away (after taking tylenol 4 times). I also gained 6 lbs in the last 2 weeks, I'm assuming from fluid retention, as I have not been overeating. The doctor is concerned & feels that he may have to deliver my baby early. He told me to go to the hospital this weekend if it gets worse...but I'm wondering how am I supposed to be the judge of that?!

im hoping to study medicine at university, but im not sure exactly what type of doctor i want to be..not a surgeon, but i am interested in the brain... what sort of doctors are there that would be a possibililty for me? i am predicted mostly A's and A*'s for my gcses, so considering that, and the levels of study involved for the different branches of medicine, what would you suggest as a possible career choice??

I know that shows like Grey's Anatomy portrays them do practially everything known to medicine. But besides surgeries, consultations and follow ups, would their post-op patients be under their care or an intensivist at the surgical ICU? If the patient goes into shock and arythmia or anything of that nature, would the surgeon be called upon regardless if he/she is in the vicinity? And do they run codes(blue)?

It is known in the mental heath field that placebo has a therapeutic effect. I have seen figures up to 30% benefiting substantially from placebo.

And what about belief in the healthing hand of God as a placebo? It can only do good healthwise.

Do you want a placebo drug from God?

If I took Adderall without a prescription a few days ago, will it show up on a drug test? I'm starting a new job, and I may be required to take a drug test. I'm worried that I won't be hired.
Please don't just guess and say yes or no, I'm looking for someone who actually knows. Thanks.

I'm writing a story right now and in it someone is stabbed, very briefly, with a saber. Think like a marine's saber. It goes in enough so four or five inches is sticking out the back of the person, then it is withdrawn. Is it possible for someone to survive such a wound? Like, if it misses the organs. If it's not possible with a saber but with another sword I'd gladly change the type of sword in question.

If medicine isn't the best place for this(it's an odd question and I'd think somebody here would be knowledgeable about human anatomy enough to know this) where would be a better place? I mean, it is an odd question.

Alright, silly question, but I'm sure I've done it a day when I've forgotten to take it (been on Celexa for about 5 months now, 40 mg a day). However, I haven't slept tonight and I took my multivitamins, an ibuprofen for a headache, and as I swalled I mustve slipped two Celexa in because I was taking em' all at once. Now, not thinking until after I swallowed and realized I did so unknowingly, are there any dangers or anything to worry about? Ive never had side effects with this medicine, but again Im just wanting to make sure. I'm sure on a day when I've been unsure if I've taken one I've had 2 and still felt fine. Although, insight is helpful! thank you!
