Each cell contains many genes which carry the information for making many proteins. But not all of these genes are used by any one cell. Just a few genes will be 'switched on' in any one cell at any one time.

I saw this program awhile back about chimps and man. The focus of the story was a chimp that was thought to be half man half ape due to his ability to walk upright and his abnormal facial features. It turned out he was a normal chimp just some random mutation caused him to be that way. But it made me wonder, is it possible for chimps and humans to interbreed?

I want proof that any one living thing has changed it's DNA completely from one thing to another. like cows to whales or what ever. Apes to Man, etc... any living thing can adapt to its environment but the DNA structure never changes naturally once it's concieved. even though science can create Ligers from lions and tigers they can't breed and will not survive as a species on their own.

My husband is an identical twin and tonight our son who is only 5 stumped me with a question while we were talking. He asked if identical twins have the same fingerprints? I really do not know the answer and my husband is at work so I can't ask him. Anyone know? My guess would be no, but am not sure about identicals.
