I had some friends told me to better major in microbiology because it covers biochemistry(overlap). While Biochemistry is just biochemistry. Yet friends told me that a major in either is great. So What is the difference between the two majors?

can someone explain the cell respiration lab to me?? ap bio =( its with the germinating and non germinating seeds..why does the amount of oxygen consumed determine cell respiration? what does oxygen have to do with cell respiration anyway? isnt cell respiration when the organism uses glucose to make ATP energy? so wheres oxygen come in? thanks...
