We have all just wrapped up and gone outside to stargaze (something we often do as our 6 year old is fascinated) there is a very very bright star in the sky, brighter than the North star - Is it Venus? Someone said it could be?

If there are a million billion (ish)stars in our galaxy and there is a million billion (ish) galaxies in the known universe the possibility that our planet is the only one that can support life has got to be pretty remote.

Here's the article, but this isn't the first time I've seen this, what the heck does supersonic speeds mean when you're talking about space?

or they also have to do some maneuvers to control the flight of there ship. I think that whole the space flight is controlled from the base station at NASA. The astronauts just keep sitting inside spaceship keeping there fingers crossed. Are there any sort of lever or switches inside their rockets which can direct their motion I mean as they do in the fiction movies??

I go and click on the Astronomy and space link to answer another question and encounter this:

"Drat. Nothing here right now.
Why don't you become the first to ask a question instead?"

Just a few moments ago, the category had plenty of questions listed!

OK - so 5 points won't go to waste: How many of you out there think that little space rock is going to smack into Mars on Jan 30, 2008? They just increased the odds of impact to 1 in 25 or a 4% probability while further refinement is possible with continual tracking of that object.

I'm very near- sighted, so I either have to wear my glasses or contacts if I wish to share the views with my neighbors (without re- focussing the telescope).

The neighbors, while interested in seeing really cool things through the telescope, aren't very good at focussing for themselves.

With my eyes being the way they are, I can't focus FOR them...

Now, I've heard that the surgery is GREAT, but the treated area extends out to only 4 or 5 mm from the center of the eye(s).
A fully dark- adapted pupil is dilates to ~7 or 8 mm...
I've read in the past that this 'undertreatment' of the eye(s) will result in vignetting of images when the pupils are fully dilated.

Does anyone out there have experience with this?
Does anyone KNOW anyone who has experience with this?

I'd really like to have this proceedure done... The only thing that's stopped me in the past is what I've mentioned above...

Any help would be MOST appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Bobby

Couldn't some of those comets have struck the moon when it was forming as well.? I mean if this did happen would there be water on the moon because comets are made up of mostly water right?

We are all aware that like the sun, the moon rises in the east and sets in the west. I note that sometimes it takes the path of the winter sun (low across the southern sky) and sometimes high in the sky (like the summer sun). What are the dynamics of this and how long does it take for it to go from its southernmost path to its northernmost path?

I mean solar sails would survive a trip of any great distances, sure solar sails are a great way to get children interested in science and space technology but solar sails just aren't viable.

I mean, what he says about the position of the sun and the stars during the solstice and equinox, and what an Age is, and all the other scientific stuff. Not the religious stuff, but the stuff he is claiming as astrological fact. Does he have that part correct?

I greatly appreciate any help I can get on this.

my friend told me that the orbit of mars has distracted and the orbit of earth will also be. By that time the sun will set up at west and mars will come nearer to earth. And NASA hides this information because it gives benefit to muslims, is that true?

.....the same way that you can give a thumbs up or a thumbs down to the answers?

Some of the questions are so bad and they are just pathetic attempts to gain attention. They are a waste of brain cells and a waste of time.

I think it would be good if a question gets like 10 thumbs down then it will be automatically deleted. That would help stop all the spammers and the ones that think they are sooooo cute.

I think that would make Yoo Hoo Answers a lot better. What do you think?
