I brought my son to hospital for treating a broken foot tonight, and my wife was with me as well. We were driving on RT.1 through westerly, RI and wife pointed out, up in the sky, " what the hell is that " I glanced up through windshield, spotted three bright white light's from what i could see, and a large wide shaped ray of light in the front, " I think " and Looked back up about 5 seconds later, POOF, it was gone just like that...the whole sky was black, this happened about 10pm, could it have been a UFO, I don't think a plane would fly through when were in a severe weather alert right now!!! with snow, rain, etc.

I notice that at 4:30 PM on December 21 when I leave the office in Edmonton, Alberta it is no longer pitch dark as it was only a few years ago...only a deep dusk and not dark until almost 5 PM. That would mean the Northern Hemisphere is not as far away from the sun as it used to be on the winter solstice. Is there any evidence to back this up?

Since gravity attracts two massive bodies, why is it then that the Moon is actually moving further and further away from us and why doesn't it just plummet towards the Earth?

If everything in the Universe is moving away from each other why is it that the Andromeda galaxy and our own galaxy are moving towards each other?

AZ 1300 hrs, 11/12/07..I-10 between 81/69 offramps/crystal clear weather very light traffic./west bound. Suddenly a strange out of this world craft appeared ahead of me crossing right to left as if on final approach. It crossed ahead of me about 250 yards, and on the other side of the freeway it rapidly accelerated and then just within 5 seconds it was out of sight and disappeared. It was about the size of a Cessna their was no propeller, no wings, no portholes, no exhaust no visible heat or method of propulsion. I am now a believer.

Plz, translate these sentences which token from a moon text --> to arabic?
1-The Moon (Latin: Luna) is Earth's only natural satellite

2-The gravitational pull at its surface is about 17 percent of the Earth's

3-the Moon orbits near the ecliptic and not the Earth's equatorial plane

4-As a result of the conservation of angular momentum, the increasing semi major axis of the Moon is accompanied by a gradual slowing of the Earth's rotation by about 0.002 seconds per day per century

6-The Earth–Moon system is sometimes considered to be a double planet rather than a planet–moon system

Someone on here that sounded like they knew what they were talking about said that the universe is not only expanding, but accelerating. Next I was told that matter cannot reach the speed of light.

My assumption is that, say when matter reaches 99% the speed of light, then 99.9999999%, then 99.99999999999999%, eventually wouldn't it either stop, or reverse, or would it keep essentially adding "9's"?

I read an article a while ago about how scientists want to send a submarine to jupiters moon Europa to search for underwater life;
The article told of how it would melt its way through the thick ice but I could not locate that same story again and I just thought I would ask, What is your opinion on this, Possible? Or not possible?
Science shows it can be done, They will be testing in an antartic lake in 2008 and 2009 to see if its possible,,;
Whats your thoughts?

Here is a short description of the program testing, and the concept,

And another that tells about the concept on Europa;
