when we look up into space, we are looking into the past about 3,000 years ago, the reason we are looking that far is because even thought light travels 186,287 miles per second we are so far aaway that it takes 3,000 years to get here, wow. so remember when you look at space you are looking 3,000 years into the past so how do we know that some of those stars and planets are still there?

i thought this is when the planets would aine and create serious weather when they did due to gravitational pull

and then i heard about a big comet that is meant to strike in 2019.

and then i heard about the mayans talking about it was the end of their calander, therefore the end

lastly i heard it was a new era like ne000.01 or something

What sorts of obstacles would the Jupiter moon present us? Has anyone learned what the terrain is like? Is there crazy weather phenomena?

I ask because i myself believe it is much older than scientists would have us believe. I base my belief on this. scientists say it is about 15-20 billions years old based on the fact that that is how long it has taken light to reach us from the farthest reaches that telescopes of any kind have been able to see. But if that is true then how about the time it took for the objects that are out that far whose light the telescopes are seeing took to get where they are at vastly slower speeds than their light we see takes getting back to our telescopes. I hope I have explained myself so that someone understands what it is I am trying to say

Long story short, I am going to make a homemade telescope, and attempt to see Saturn (yeah, another Science Fair project=P). Anyways, I have searched and searched for a way to make one, or at least suggestions on how to make one, but have come up with nothing solid. I don't want to construct this little thing of cardboard, that will only be of some use in seeing the moon. Does anyone know any websites, or anything, that may be of some help?

Whenever you hear talk about aliens, its always about them being so advanced, and so amazing.

Who's to say we arn't 10x as advanced as them?

Are humans just so slow intellectually compared to other "beings" out there?

And why are we always like, when are THEY gonna find us?

More like when are WE going to find them!

think about that!

According to the Mayan calander, time ends or something happens. The earth will be exactly in the middle of the milky way and hence gravitational forces could change the magnetic location of the north pole and other geophysical changes could happen relatively quickly. What do you think?
